Meh. Aussies doing a Kiwi accent. Not the height of accuracy.

Having said that, since living in Australia for a while, when I go back home to NZ for a holiday, I really notice the Kiwi accent. And it sounds quite different depending on where the person is from. Gosh, I miss home sometimes...

@ Ani187: Actually, I think the best video regarding Kiwi accents is the one Emmettyville linked to. It`s better than the one I submitted! =^.^=

My mom lives in New Zealand, and while she hasn`t picked up the accent, sometimes her housemates answer when I call, and they don`t sound like that.

It`s quite hard to find a really strong NZ accent these days where I live (Auckland). I think this is because of the number of people born overseas or who are first generation NZers. My cousins have a quite a strong one but they live in Taupo which is a lot smaller and has fewer immigrants.

Kiwis accents are soft and rhythmic
My uncle Ferdy lives in Christchurch
Aussies are a bit harsher
take London roosterney mixed with the Queens english
theres the mix, a mellow stylie ;-)

@ Emmettyville: Complete ribbish, huh? hee hee hee Actually, I like the Kiwi accent and prefer it over the Australian, which is too twangy for my taste (sorry, Aussies!). I liked the video you linked, by the way.

Remember a property programme on TV where a Kiwi was explaining why he liked a particular house: "It`s so eerie."
Interviewer: "What.. haunted?"
"Nah, eerie, lots of space..."
