The irony of israel turning palestine into a concentration camp is just too much for me to grok. It must be the "do unto others what has been done unto you" principal. Ah, well, I guess they deserve eachother so its all good.

Actually, my first choice would be your house. I`ll admit, one less bigot wouldn`t be a huge improvement, but it would be an improvement nonetheless.

Right, because when they have their own country, they can actually defend themselves against people who have sworn to exterminate them. We can`t allow that, now can we?

To the one saying "nothing new here", this isn`t some vague description of how the occupation is bad, but it`s specific stories of what certain soldiers saw in their service; It`s eye opening. I am quite involved with the situation and even live in this country, yet they still give some stories that surprise even me.

I loved this and it bears repeating since it is spot on:
"Old Ollie is an old crabby man judging a world he doesn`t understand from behind a computer."

Hey no worries. It`s just I don`t fall into the misguided notion that it`s a left or right world. I think we`re all being screwed.

Old Ollie is an old crabby man judging a world he doesn`t understand from behind a computer. I watched the link that you posted and the story of the old man and Jewish kids is horrible yet a fact that is present in any area where conflict is prevalent.

The racist comments here are just sickening. I have friends here in nyc that are Israeli, Palestinian, Iranian, and Egyptian and they`re all wonderful people.

I realized a while back that people give out too much personal information on this site and some are unemployed, heavily "medicated", on disabilities with mental illness and they have a sad life that is vicariously lived through the support of hateful commenting on sites like this.

Btw, I apologize if I flew off the handle a bit and made that assumption. I`m just tired of the blind, hateful comments like the one OldOllie made. I want people to discuss this situation rationally, and not jump to conclusions about how one ethnic group is less human than the other.

@peakingo: The point is not that a few conscripted soldiers act like asses. That`s to be expected of any army. The problem is the situation they`re being put in. At least watch the link I posted below. It illustrates that the soldiers are put in a situation that is extremely stressful and ethically unbalanced.

WOW! So what she`s saying is that 1% of the people in the Israeli army are about 10% as depraved as 80% of the Palestinians.

Whoa Fools, you`re making a massive assumption.

I`m not watching four videos of people complaining about anything. Cops, cats, food, houses, cars, government, your moms saggy a$$, military issues, etc...

It`s not a political. It`s just I hate being told redundant information. "Oh big business is only interested in profits, the government lies, military people can be mean and violent, etc..."

As Tupinambis wrote, "No way! Every country`s uneducated service men can act like animals? What a surprise."--that`s why I`m not watching it.

Grow up and stop making an a$$ of yourself.

Foolsprussia, you just described the entire video. There is no need to watch it. It`s no different than anything we all saw in our Israeli-Palestinian conflict classes in college.

Plus, cons are more likely to watch and read con material, and libs are more likely to read their stuff. Including you. So you`re not in some city on a hill on this matter.

@peakingo: In other words, you spent the time trying to figure out if it would clash with your preconceived worldview and decided against watching it.

`"what goes on in the occupation" isn`t a sufficient answer. Just drop a comment going in detail then I`ll watch.`

That`s exactly what the organization does. From their webpage:

"Breaking the Silence is an organization of veteran combatants who have served in the Israeli military since the start of the Second Intifada and have taken it upon themselves to expose the Israeli public to the reality of everyday life in the Occupied Territories. We endeavor to stimulate public debate about the price paid for a reality in which young soldiers face a civilian population on a daily basis, and are engaged in the control of that population’s everyday life."

before I waste my time watching four videos of who knows what. How about explaining what the hell she`s actually talking about. "breaking the silence" of what? Being a female in the Israeli army or of their battles with Palestine.

"what goes on in the occupation" isn`t a sufficient answer. Just drop a comment going in detail then I`ll watch.
