Selling digital content is a strange business. You can`t exactly call it stealing when people can make infinite copies of your product and aren`t taking anything from you. On the other hand the maker needs to sell in order be able to produce.

I only pirate things which are exorbitantly overpriced, or hard to find. If it`s out of print and I`d have to buy it used. If the money is tight.

Louis CK did that thing where he made his special available for $5, and I bought it. That`s a reasonable price to charge someone for an hour`s entertainment. The problem with a lot of media, be it music, movies, or games, is that there are so many various companies who get in line for a piece of the pie that it drives the price way beyond the actual cost of creating the content and compensating those who worked on it.

P.S. Adult Swim was totally kidding when they wrote that. It was meant to be stupid logic. Not surprised people here couldn`t discern that.

If any of you were in the business of creating content that could be pirated, you might think differently. I think pirates are a-holes and criminals. How pathetic do you have to be to steal a movie that costs $5 to rent and even less to watch if it`s on Netflix? LAME

oh, plus, it`s not like I`m going to buy the stuff anyway, cause I dont have enough money, so in effect, they are losing no money from me. I do not contribute to this equation. My crime is victimlessssssss

The movie-makers are basically falling foul of the broken window fallacy.

@Angilion: Especially since pirates usually will pirate a movie and watch it, then delete it, then pirate it again if they want to watch it again. I mean... I`d assume. *shifty eyes* Yeah.

Nice way to present a truthful point, although it doesn`t cost the film industry anything like $20B anyway. That figure is made up by guessing how many films are pirated and pretending that every one of the pirates would otherwise have paid full retail price for every film they pirated, which is completely ridiculous.
