It wouldn`t bother me. I`d have to have a mouse anyway. I f***ing HATE trackpads no matter where you put them.

I still prefer Lenovo and their tactile red nipples. Mmmmmm, nipples

I think it`s a neat idea but not for everyone.

Preferably (and I`m sure I`m the minority here), I`d like to see the little joystick hidden between the keys again (Google: laptop joystick).

If I`m seriously using my laptop, I`ll use a cordless USB mouse, but built-in ... I`d rather have the unobtrusive joystick.

"you could just turn the track pad off with the function keys"
Not in Win 8...

lol, so instead of your palm moving the mouse while you`re typing, now you`ll end up typing z.?>>zjz,mz when you move the mouse.

@danagamer Or you know... you could just turn the track pad off with the function keys and turn it back on when you need it.

It is Aspire R7 and the screen pivots between tablet and regular notebook mode.
Looks really interesting.

That`s brilliant. My thumb keeps hitting my track pad

I just cover my palm rest area and track pad with a mouse pad I cut in half. Far easier than finding a real palm rest cover.

I don`t see how having the track pad near the screen, so that you don`t accidentally hit it with the palm of your hand while typing, is at all significant enough to post this picture to IAB. There has to be some funny detail that we`re missing.

I don`t get it either. Acer laptops are really cheap, for young kids. I gave one to my 8 year old son since he has homework assignments online. Cost less than $100, so if he breaks or loses it, as he inevitably will, it won`t matter too much.

I might prefer that. The bottom of my palm is always touching the pad making it move, and sometimes click out of the field I`m typing on.

I hate laptops for that reason.

It is actually that way for a reason( Acer Laptop
). It is a touch screen laptop and when you position the screen forward it covers the track pad, and you then use the touch screen instead. I actually like the idea of not having the track pad at the bottom..though I would probably miss the `palm` rests.

Pretty sure it`s because the cursor control pad is above the keyboard.

Is that something to do with it being touch screen? I can`t work out if that way round would be better
