@cheeseb: Ooo! +1 score for referencing (correctly!) to Milgrim`s Experiments!

Welcome to IAB! Have a cookie!

@ilyaD: The biker chick was completely "holding back". She had the Mall Brat by the `short curly ones` a couple of times and didn`t lay a horrific beating on her...

@carmium: Ok, you saw the semi- too? Oh good! I was starting to wonder...

@BoredFrank gets a cookie too for mentioning "Deputy Dawg"... :-)

I do NOT understand this. What is so special about the Ohio Valley Mall? At about 0:55, you can see a low-loader that seems to have slid down a hill, is that what these people are photographing? And why shouldn`t they? This whole thing is Kafka-esque.

cheese,
"What is this phenomenon of security/police officers flipping out? "
It`s not just them. IT`s the girls twerkin` in Burger King and chick fights at Denny`s. We have 2 generations that were brought up thinking no one can "get up in their business" and tell them what to do. They`re used to screaming and getting their own way. Society stopped putting a minimum-standard on public behavior so naturally no one behaves.

Didn`t see that coming, did we. [/sarcasm]

Too bad neither of them can fight =\

I thought the biker chick fought quite well. In real life, we don`t look like Bruce Lee while fighting...

I have a theory.
If someone is given authority, they will usually abuse it. I would estimate somewhere between 80 - 98% of people who are given authority will abuse it. (not just cops, but bosses, managers, baby sitters, parents, etc).
Wait...that`s not a theory. It`s actual reality, and people are bastards.

What is this phenomenon of security/police officers flipping out? It seems as though they are trained to crank up the aggression, whether or not they are in the wrong, and not consider whether or not they are in the wrong. Is there a problem at the root level? I understand that stressful situations mean that humans, no matter how well trained, can sometimes lose the very control that they are trained to keep. But it seems that a lot of these videos show officers simply losing their sh*t in a situation that they either didn`t understand, overstepped their boundaries, or caused all by themselves. But once someone calls them out, they turn it up to eleven. What`s going on? They don`t possess the ability to think critically under pressure? Are they simply "following orders?" Is this very common and suddenly visible due to widely accessible cameras? Or is it a new problem? Is this an example of the "Lucifer Effect" that Stanley Milgrim was testing?

The security guard was in the right to ask them to leave the property, if that was in fact mall property. She, however, drated herself over when she touched that other chick.

Here`s how it should have played out.

Mall cop: Please leave.
Bikers: Nope
Mall cop: Okay (calls police) We have multiple trespassers.
Cops arrive and arrest everyone, screwing up their day for not leaving the property when asked by the property owner.

OR, the cops would just say "Okay. Real cop here. Leave this private property."

So they`re taking pictures of a semi- in the ditch, and the "mall cop" tries to shoo them away?

Counting: It doesn`t work on 4 year olds either! lolz!

Biker chick was quite polite actually, just put her into a submission hold and let her tire out. She clearly could have beaten the CRAP out of her...

"Why are people so uptight about pictures in the first place? And please don`t anybody say any of these idiots could be terrorists."

I would think for a mall the rules exists to keep people from "casing the joint".

However enforcing at the edge of the parking lot is a little ridiculous.

I`ll quote Rodney Dangerfield...
"Hey Wang! What`s with the pictures? It`s a parking lot!"
Just because something`s open to the public it doesn`t mean it`s public property. A restaurant is open to the public and is private property. A mall is as well. If they were inside the mall`s property, even if it`s just the parking lot, then they`re not allowed to take pictures or videos. If that road belonged to the mall then they couldn`t take pictures. If it didn`t then they could.

Still, they`re all idiots. The only decent person there was the man who broke them up.

Ok, why would you pull guard when you obviously have full mount? Even with the boots that was an impressive takedown.

newho. People can take pictures without an expectation of privacy. I`m assuming they were photographing a vehicle that had slid down the hill. The ``officer`` has no authority at all but can ask nicely for them not to but film although they don`t have to comply. I`ve been through this many many times with my job.

I still don`t understand, after all of these kinds of videos and opinion after opinion of attorney`s general across the fruited plains, how anyone can think that they can tell people to stop filming and taking pictures anywhere that`s open to the public. It`s breathtaking how security guards and even the occasional police officer can be so mind-numbingly ignorant that they think they can still try and intimidate people into stopping perfectly legal activities such as this.

Looks like the Ohio Valley Mall Security officer make their own uniforms.

Unless the mall owns the road, looks like Deputy Dawg was full of excrement.

That is hilarious. Pick a fight with people, shove them to provoke and get your arse handed to you on a plate. I would love to see the silly cows explanation- well, they were taking pictures of the countryside while standing in the car park....
