I think more focus should be put on the fact that most of these pregnancies are the result of statutory rape. Most 15 year old girls banging are not banging other 15 year olds.

Teens is a very vague term, describing people from 13-19. So using that label is functionally useless.

Most girls who start to have sex that early do not do so with someone of equal age, I know this because I do not live under a rock. It`s pretty obvious why, too, because the girls mature so much faster than the boys. There`s always that one guy between 18-24 who was banging underage girls.

Andrew, you are taking that too literally.

If a 15 year old has sex with a 15 year old male, then the male can be charged for rape. Even if both teenagers love each other.

THATS what they are talking about. You are just trying to shore up your arguments desperately to try and save face on an internet forum.

Okay, I´ll give you right in this sense, most 15 year old girls favor a guy who´s a little older. So let´s go with most 15 year old girls drat 16 year old guys.

Also I´m well aware of your country`s mostly medival laws related to sex, I find them quite amusing to say the very least.

I`m hoping all this debate over Plan B opens the floodgates to most birth control pills being OTC, OBGYNs have already said they should be, many women feel it should be and it already is in many other countries.

"I think more focus should be put on the fact that most of these pregnancies are the result of statutory rape. Most 15 year old girls banging are not banging other 15 year olds."
I understand that our nation has arbitrary laws concerning statutory rape, varying drastically from state-to-state, but why should there be more focus on the ages of the men? Should a 20-year-old man have sex with a 15-year-old girl? Who knows, are we in a position to judge? Not really. The point of the matter is that we, as a nation, are one step closer to being more open and accepting of sex. Does this mean all girls everywhere are going to have crap tons more sex? No, because they are already having tons of sex. This just means there will be less unwanted children in the world. Our nation really needs to chill out about sex. I agree with VikingGuy, our attitude towards sex in the U.S. is pretty Medieval. Hopefully this will start to change.

The article they linked doesn`t explain how the judge `defied Obama` and doesn`t even get into talking about him until most of the way through the article. This article is primarily about the FDA granting a pharmaceutical company`s request to make this pill available to girls 15 and older.

We can`t judge a 20 year old banging a 15 year old? That is so strange. I think we`re pretty much in a good position to judge that guy. Age of consent exists, and it`s not uptight to think it should exist. If you`re twenty and you`re banging a fifteen year old girl, you`re a weirdo going for an easy target.

US attitudes towards sex are medieval? I can`t even make this stuff up. Everyone always takes the views of some supposed town in nowhere North Dakota as what "US attitudes" are. Americans are exceedingly open about sex. Kids loose their virginity early. Look at the TV, media, advertisements. Sex sells. It`s pretty ubiquitous. It`s integral to our culture. I`ve lived in Europe for 5 years and have a Dutch girlfriend. They seem far less obsessed with sex.

Iceland banned porn recently. The EU tried to ban porn a few months ago. If America did this, they would be uptight. If Europe does it, they are enlightened.

tedgp, I don`t know why there`s all this talk of desperation. I am just giving my views. In my link, it stated that 77% of the pregnancies were by men older than high school age.

The men are on average over 4 years older than the underage girls. Almost 7 years older than the girls in junior high.

Men over 20 fathered 5 times as many babies to junior high girls than junior high guys.

Everyone always talks about this hypothetical situation where two 15 year olds do it, and it`s statutory rape. That`s not what the link even talks about. That`s a strawman.

Viking, enlighten me, what`s so medieval about American sex laws?

Firstly, I don`t even know what you mean by "sex laws". I find that entire concept kind of backwards that there are laws about sex. What you do is no business of the state. If you mean rape laws, that`s a whole different issue because rape isn`t sex. If you`re talking about age of consent laws, that`s not even a federal issue, so you aren`t very familiar with these "American sex" laws.

In most of the Southern States, as well as the Northeastern states, you have to be 16 to consent. In Florida, though, a 16 year old can have sex with anyone up to 24 years old. If the other person is older than 24, both parties have to be adults to consent. SO MEDIEVAL. BARBARIANS.

That 16 age is the same as Holland or Norway.

You would really be in for a shocker if you ever went to the Middle Ages.

"Age of Consent Laws" dictate when one is old enough to responsibly enter into a binding contract and is controlled by state.
(Not to be confused with the Federally mandated "Age of Majority" which deals with interstate and federal regulations and is set at 18 years of age.)

The age of consent is 18 years old in only twelve states:
Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, North Dakota, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

It is 17 years old in eight states:
Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Texas.

And it is 16 years old in thirty states (and DC):
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont,

A gerontophile is someone who gets off on OLD people.

A teleiophile is attracted to those 17 and older.

A ephebophile prefers someone well established in pubescence (15 or 16)

A hebephile is someone who is sexually attracted to children just entering pubescences (11 to 14).

A pedophile is a person who is sexually attracted to prepubescent children (10 or younger).

An infantophile (a subset of pedo) is attracted to children under 6 years of age.

Make to use the correct terminology in your rants.

You just managed to answer my earlier question. So tell me, how´s that granite ceiling looking?

Anyways, your attempts to justify your backwards stance on sexuality are incredibly funny, but I suspect the logic of the situation and what this article is about fell right past you.

And as a reference, the article is about free access to day after birth control, and as I stated, teens drat like rabbits.
This whole "taking advantage of" arguement falls through for the reason that if both parties agree to an action, both are at fault. If one does not it becomes what is known as rape in a western legal perspective.
In short if a 15 year old girl chooses to date a 20 year old guy, that is their choice and their business.

However should accidents occur, the free access to these tablets means a possible curb in teen pregnancies since people no longer have to feel ashamed or worry about their boyfriend going to jail due to poorly made laws.

Is anyone concerned with the fact that women who can`t afford birth control pills are using Plan B instead? It`s the poor girl`s birth control, but I don`t think any research has been done into the risks of using this drug on a frequent schedule. It was only meant to be used as a last alternative. That concerns me more than 15-year-olds being able to buy it.
