"Obama is so cool, I`m going to let him do anything because I`m such a devoted supporter." (generic Obama supporter)

"Criticisms of Obama only exist because he`s black." (Holygod; idiots)

"I`m glad they targeted certain groups, they should." (Authoritarians)

@Andrew, I think the same can be said for any devoted President supporter. I mean hell, imagine what would happen if Obama asked America for a blank check to fight "terrorism" in Iraq?

Bush got the money from unquestionable loyalty. In fact FOX News is noted for censoring people for speaking ill of any Republican president siting the theory that, "respect must be show to the office". It happens with Bush and with Reagan.

Remember, neither party actually cares about you or me. They care about their personal interests. They care about the people who are giving millions to their campaign or those offering them jobs after we kick them out of office for supporting personal interest instead of our own.

I don`t see this as his accountability, this is criminally wrong from IRS offices. I doubt Obama gives a crap who`s taxes are listed as what.

Very true. A sizable segment is overly devoted to whatever team they chose to support way back when, when the team itself really means nothing. Dems and Reps alike at varying times have been pro-war, anti-war, against civil liberties, champions of civil liberties, and so forth.

Peter King is a warped, disconnected old fart who sided with the IRA bombers back in the 80`s & 90`s, compared the leader of Sinn Féin, Gerry Adams to George Washington, once called the PIRA "the legitimate voice of occupied Ireland" & asserted that the "British government is a murder machine". King also lobbied unsuccessfully for Gerry Adams to be a guest at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton. Regarding the December 1983 PIRA Harrods bombing, which resulted in a total of six deaths and ninety injuries, including American Kenneth Salvesen & the wounding of another, Mark McDonald, King said, "If civilians are killed in an attack, it is certainly regrettable, but I will not morally blame the IRA for it". The guy isn`t right in the head...

let me be the first to state I could care less of the UK and this guys opinions on their internal strife.

I love their accents, music and dry humor. Not their politics. I`m American, we`ve got enough crap here to argue over than to be concerned with his views of crap that took place nearly a quarter of a century ago on an island the size of New York.

Instead of tax audits, they should have used an armed drone.

I had a tiny hope that somebody in Congress would propose dumping the income tax in favor of a 17% flat tax or a similar National sales tax and doing away with the IRS completely, oh well,

The issue is that many of these groups shouldn`t get tax free status if they`re going to engage in politics, be they liberal or conservative. The whole situation is a mess, because these groups are allowed to engage in these activities up to a point, and now you`re asking the IRS to make a judgement call on just how politically involved they are.

This article really gets into the issue
