Bloody hell,
People have enough problems driving on a basic
z plane, without including the x and y planes
to contend with

*sigh*

To all the skeptices, it will happen once a large enough manafacturer sees profit in this concept and starts lobying, granted i think the chances of that are slim. but you never know, think of places like australia and canada.. extend the range and i`d say you have a potential market.

I see a problem with this concept and the ineptness of people having them serviced and repaired.

It`l be great for a while, then all hells gonna break loose, as they start falling from the sky :P

XD!!!!!
Too late, Pal! It`s a done deal.

Paragraph 3 + pics 2 and 3

They`re having trouble selling the complete computer control scheme to the FAA. They think ten more years of meetings/adjustments.

The wing loading on this this is absurd. No way anything that looks like this is going to fly.

Flying in a computer controlled flight path.
Enter your destination and off it goes.
And the government can track you. Ah, progress.

I want my damn jet-pack. When I was a kid they promised us tourist trips to the moon by 1999. They said we`d have jet-packs instead of skateboards and that we`d all have voice interactive computers that connect the whole world together in a vast information web.

And what did we actually get? Instead of jet-packs we got snow-boards, instead of tourist trips to the moon I can barely afford a weekend in Tijuana, and the World Wide Interweb turns out to be nothing more than quicker access to gossip and porn.

Science has failed me.
I may turn religious.

I hope that nobody gets any flying car certified by any authorities anywhere at any point in the foreseable future.

Flying cars are a spectacularly stupid and dangerous idea with any technology that might exist in the foreseable future, even if they`re fixed on autopilot that can`t be over-ridden. If they`re not, then the death toll would be horrendous.

I am very skeptical that such short wings would provide enough lift.

I agree with ggolbez. If true this is a HORRIBLE idea.

Flying transportation will never be available for the masses. The general public is far too dumb and reckless to be trusted with it. Just takes one drunk ass person to fly into the capital, or at least into their own roof. It just won`t happen.

"aviation has attracted the most charlatans"
These dudes have already made one of the two planes shown. Last I heard, they were trying to get the car-plane design FAA certified.

I think 500 mile range is too short.

Screw the parachute handle.
if((bUnderspeed AND bUnderaltitude AND bCannotPitchClimb) OR bClassAOuterMarkerAlarm)
{
bForceLandAndDisableTakeOff = true;
}

Then, have the parachute held closed by a self-sealing relay that is de-energized on power loss.

If you HAVE TO land, it`s more likely because the pilot is not up for VFR during a system loss. (Not conscious?)
