According to Michael Jeffries, A&F CEO, fat people will never be a part of the in crowd, thus no XL or XXL sizes.

Well, if you can`t trust a guy who looks like he was face f*cked by a chainsaw to determine who has value and who doesn`t, who can you trust?

What about the ugly skinny girls or skinny old people wearing his brand? Or the fat boys since men`s sizes go up to XL and XXL. I don`t think the pretty people they hire are going to keep them out, with their prettiness powers.

This guy reminds me of that Bill Burr routine.
Why get a facelift now, why not wait till the get the bugs ironed out?

It`s his company, and his decision..

He he were smart, he`d make a fatty line, and cover all the markets though. Not call it Abercrombie of course.

This is just like Dr. Strangelove. The whole point of having an elitist ideology behind your store`s image is YOU DON`T TELL ANYBODY ABOUT YOUR ELITIST IDEOLOGY! I mean, people know what`s going on anyway, but it not "official". Now that he has opened his dumb mouth and announced it, he just looks like an ass.

There are stores that cater specifically to plus sized people... Why can`t there be a store that caters to minus sized people?

He sounds like a bit of a jerk, but I have to admit I often find it pathetic when I see a heavy girl trying to fit into the clothes of the cool crowd. Each summer I see girls oozing out of sleeveless, form-fitting tees and crop-tops, because they`re desperate to follow the tyranny of teen style, and it`s sad.

To be honest teq78 you sound like a polo wearing douchebag. If you need to pay more to wear a name on your shirt for identity your a sad individual.

To be honest most clothing brands try to comunicate the style by the models for example aeropostale use tons of surfer guys and girls theyre trying to say "my clothing is for surfers or sporty people" so when a disgusting whale use their clothing it destroys that image and well u see when i buy my clothes i wanna be associated with sporty people (im fit, i work out a lot)hence i buy aeropostale so when i see this whale guy with his stretched torn aeropostale t shirt i think "wow is that the kind of people (whale people)who wears this brand?" then i dont wanna wear aeropostale anymore. So u see i agree with Michael Jeffries when he implies "this brand is for fit people, so whale people shouldnt wear it, please dont wear this brand whale people, u destroy our image" the end!

Does he realize that his brand is a punchline? No. Probably not.

Take a look at the other stuff he does, such as hiring only young, gay males as personal attendants who must adhere to stringent guidelines in regard to even the most miniscule details. f*kc this guy.

I think it`s fly when girls stop by for the summer.

Equality aside, his market reasoning is sound. Creating exclusivity is a demand vehicle.

Doesn`t make him less of a jerk or anything. It also makes me wonder how many of the people complaining *used to* be in his his key demographic in high school.

Funny coming from a man that had to pay money to alter his face in order to "fit in". I`ve never even been in one of those stores...clothes do not appeal to me in the first place.

I love going into the A&F stores. It is such a positive experience. I`m a guy, 37, blond, with blue eyes. I have never worked out a day in my life and I`m probably a good 25 pounds overweight. Since all the photos are of models in jeans only, I assume that is the dress code. I usually take off my shirt before I go in and I`m really pale and flabby and I like to walk up to the waifs and say stuff like "Are you gonna eat that?" And then I use their merchandise to wipe my mouth after a sinfully delicious philly steak sandwich from the Steak Escape. I usually have gas anyway, so I take the opportunity to fart myself stupid and say out loud "That`s my new fragrance. It`s called Fattie #5." Then I dry hump the first heavy-set girl that walks in. F-U-C-K Y-O-U Jefferys. I don`t even give a F-U-C-K if I misspell your name.

Funny, when I see someone wearing Abercrombie and Fitch, I stay away. I instantly know they are not someone I want to associate with.

Guess I`m no better.

LOL-I`m slight and I know that I`m a women`s size 6...I think that I`m going to buy some of this company`s feminine merchandise, model it and ship the images to Mr Jeffries...just so that he knows that his sexy, in-crowd image is being upheld.

@TruTenrMan: Side-note: it`s not exactly like he`s such a good-looking person himself. Pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.

well, that`s what the article stated, that because he isn`t at all good looking he prolly wasn`t "popular" in his teens. therefore he is vicariously living his childhood through his customers, in a sense.

@MrOrange That`s the very reason it is smart, because so many people have trodden that very path. He is in the business of making money, so he uses sex to sell and appeals to "good looking people." He may have been considered attractive, once upon a time. His unique look is a result of bad/to much plastic surgery.
Regarding the hole in his heart, he had that removed in the first surgery and replaced with a donut.

how does that make him smart? he`s following the path trodden by many, many before him. Besides no amounf of money can fill that li`l void in your heart that just keeps eating and eating away at you.

Hmm, I Google imaged Abercrombie and Fitch just out of curiosity; I wanted to see what the clothes look like. Instead, all I saw were black and white shots of naked men.

It doesn`t make him as ass, it makes him smart. It`s marketing, sex sells. He doesn`t want fat people wearing his clothes, because he doesn`t want his brand associated with fat-ass diabetes ridden people.
People can say what they want about him, you can question his methods, but you can`t question the results. A&F`s revenue has increased 11% to $1.47 billion.
The man made $315 million dollars between 2004 and 2011. I`m sure he all torn up about people talking about his looks and policies.

Of course, if he said he hated homosexuals there would be a bigger uproar. Don`t matter to me at all though. No A&F around here and, even if there were, the clothes they carry looks so douchy.

..and this is why i don`t wear brands such as this... not that i suport fat people not at at. i think it`s insane that millions and millions of kids die of hunger whilst some need to be rolled around. But becuase *you* are the advertising. i wonder were those clothes are made?
