I`m not usually a "... to beaded glass" kinda guy but NK ... they need to just send a squad in and aerate this moronic doughboy. He`s not just a blowhard, he`s a blowhard with the means to pull off a token mass murder. I wouldn`t be the least bit surprised if China even gave us the green light.

Even though the whole thing is just plain silly I always feel bad for the North Korean people. They don`t have a clue what`s really going on and while Un seems like he`s a nutjob he really isn`t. In a few weeks all the bluster will be over and Un will declare a great victory in the defense of his country. I don`t lose a minutes sleep over this.

So, therefore, I think once we really develop awareness of oneness of humanity through education, then we can really build genuine peace. One of my dreams is the whole world demilitarized - very possible.

I wonder if they have the equivalent of a W54 fission device? The Mk 54 variant was used in the Davy Crocket warhead, being the size of a cantaloupe and weighing about 25 kilos, it had a low explosive yield of 10T-20T but a more sizeable radiation kill zone of approximately 150m.

In the 1960s, the SEALs demonstrated a the use of a 1KT variant with a the simulated attack on a harbour. I`d guess that would have a very usable radiation kill radius of about 700m.

DPRK`s first test in 2006 was a 0.5KT device. Since then, they`ve steadily worked up to 6KT, so they have the know-how to make small devices and probably enough fissile material to make several.

Imagine if they did a reprise of the 9-11 plan, but with backpack-nukes? 2 in Manhattan, 1 on the Pentagon, one in downtown LA.

It`s feasible and scares me.

I love how a 27-29 year old snot-nosed punk, is a supreme leader. What an a$$ -douche. I like how they think the U.S. got to where we are militarily by being laxadaisical.

1:46 - 1:56, watch the trigger finger of the front gun... obviously not working. Doesn`t exactly strike fear into my heart.

Wow, Whodat. At first I thought that video of their-- "Air Force" doesn`t seem the right term, more like "Air Quaint"--was satire.

I`m in a bit of a quandary as to what the U.S. should do. On the one hand, I abhor war. On the other hand, the Kim Il-Sung Dynasty has that poor country in such a nightmarish grip, I don`t think the people will ever be free of them unless a foreign power intercedes.

Open to any and all ideas on this one.

We cannot fully understand the plight of these people without first walking in their shoes. War is a tool used by the elite to keep our spirit down. Don`t buy into bloodshed.

You know what i find incredible about the military in general ? They invest in weapons, tanks and all that crap..and when it comes down to it..a 15 year old kid with a 500 dollars computer and wi-fi internet stoled from his neighbor can hack into the Pentagon or NASA or something like that.
Moral :Stop training people to kill eachother and train crackers and hackers.

The lame attempts at `leafy` camouflage nearly made me snort soda up my nose.

NK wouldn`t stand a chance if they started a war.

Davy: Yeah I notice the broken gun right off, as well as a few other things, like the lack of any body armor.

When i was 15 there was a small kid, 2 years junior to me that used to come up to me in the playground and tell me he was gonna beat me up.

This happened for the entire year, the blank stares and rolled eyes from me not registering in his tiny little mind. Day after day he would come up to me, sometimes purple in the face with rage as he screamed insults and gave detailed descriptions of what he wished to do to me.

On the last day of term i finally granted him his wish and stood there as he attempted to beat me up, his reach not extending above my chest. He roared with anger as he struck me on the torso again and again as he slowly came to realise he was not hurting me.

He sank to his knees, sobbing his eyes out. I reached into my bag, producing a kitkat which i put down beside him and walked off home.
Looking over my shoulder one last time i saw him eating the chocolate bar with a dazed expression on his face.

Strange lad.

I feel sorry for these guys. It`s either saying what the regime wants you to say, or rot away in a labour camp

At 1:47, the gun in the foreground is broken. Watch how buddy pulls the trigger and nothing happens.

You`d think if you were going to make a propaganda video you`d avoid a clip where 25% OF THE GUNS IN THE F*CKING FRAME DON`T WORK.

@Tedgp: I`d say it`s even worse than that. Based on the documentary I watched last night, if that woman didn`t denounce the U.S. strongly enough in this propaganda footage, she could expect to be sent to a labor camp and spend the remainder of what would be a short life being raped by prison guards. Oh, and since crimes by individuals against the NK state are answerable by the entire family, she could expect her daughters would be going along with her.

What this video is showcasing is equal parts brainwashing and fear.

@Gerry: "Love the camouflage."

Exactly. I can just hear the U.S. Marines now: "Well, to pick out your targets, just look for the bits of KELLY GREEN running back and forth across the field."

They have a BIG army! But:
-Their equipment is OLD! Older than Canada`s even! And we use stuff until it falls apart.
-Their troops are UNTESTED which is a big minus.

The biggest question is: Will the USA just repel the invasion or press North to overthrow the NK regime? If they do overthrow it, South Korea would gladly help their brothers, so that`s good.
BUT would China want all those freedom loving Southerners on their border? Probably not...

They can`t be serious. Trench warfare is the kind of thing that A-10 pilots have wet dreams over. The ducks are already lined up.

@McGovern1981: That book appears to be the basis for the documentary I watched: "Camp 14: Total Control Zone" (available for streaming from NetFlix). Thanks for the title; I`ll add it to my reading list.

The guy talking about "Backpack nukes"...does he realize that he is carrying hay, not a nuke?

@1:54 watch the guy pull the trigger and nothing happens, lol.

I cant wait for this war. It is going to be the funniest thing ever. I imagine it would be like a Benny Hill war movie.

I happened to watch a documentary last night based on the experiences of a man who was *born* in one of the NK labor camps, the offspring of two prisoners. It contained not only his own history, but also statements made by escaped guards and it was shocking. I was not aware of just how bad it is there.

Some examples: Children as young as six-years-old are forced to work in the labor camp coal mines; sexual abuse of the female prisoners is part of the routine; children are forced to attend public executions, including executions of their own family members; guards are allowed to kill any prisoners of their choosing on a whim; women who have been impregnated by guards are typically executed on a made-up charge; a typical charge that can result in public execution: Not working with sufficient enthusiasm.

This society is an absolute nightmare.
