    First off that truck hasn`t been used in the US military for decades and secondly he`s a civilian. Third and foremost if you`re going to criticize poor use of a winch maybe spelling it correctly is in order?

    It`s an M135 2-1/2 cargo truck phased out in the 60s. Lots of these and the M35 have been sold as surplus over the years.

    To the winch, wench!

    The winch didn`t fail. It performed admirably.
    I cannot say the same for the driver.

    metal chain on the end of a winch? thats a horrible idea and an easy way to get someone killed.

    it was still in use in `95 when i left, and i was in a sof unit. we got all the new sh*t, but we still had these.

    @nettech98: I was about to ask if that was a current US Army truck, it looks a little old. So these guys are just "enthusiasts" and not necessarily "Army Guys" eh?
