Its actual green sludge, just like in the cartoons. Sad if you think about it.

"It`s not green sludge, hahaha! It`s called Fluorescein which is used as a dye to trace water flow."

Quiet, or the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be from space instead of, you know, mutants made from green ooze.

I was just at a refinery in TX. Freakin` surrounded by wind power turbines.

Doesn`t that mean they pay less in taxes because they buy less power?

Yeah, doesnt look real. As stated below its usually the stuff you can`t see. Although while visiting my moms at the water treatment plant she works at proctor and gamble let a bunch of tide go and the bubbles... The bubbles!!! It was cool.

5Cats-"Don`t judge a book by it`s cover..."

I agree. I worked at a chemical plant, had to stop and pick something up and had my girlfriend with me. She looked all the stacks and exclaimed `SEE all the polution you`re putting in the air!` I pointed out..."you see ALL THAT *pointing*. That is STEAM from the cooling towers...it`s water vapor...it`s harmless." *pointed at another stack* `You see THAT polution?`. She said `there`s nothing coming out of that one`. I said, `Yes there is, THAT`S the one you have to worry about it..and you can`t see it.`

5Cats-"Why is is so important they know where the runof goes in case of a spill?"

So that they can deterimine where to place the booms that float in the water to retain the run-off. And also, if they know how long the spills been going on they can determin how far away to start the clean-up.

They also may have been using it to look for leaks within their own system.

@McGovern1981

Excellent, i think it was Socrates that said to keep asking questions till you find the exception to the rule, then, make a new rule and repeat the process. So, Why would they need to know where to clean up?

SO they know where to clean up.

I was about to shout photoshop, but I guess I`m wrong. This is too cliche to be real.

Auburnjunky,

That is an awsome statement. and i applaud you for it. If we could all just see a lil good in the other side, we`d live in a far nicer world.

@FoolsPrussia

Good searching/thinking there.
The next logical question would be: Why is is so important they know where the runof goes in case of a spill?
Or is that just me being an armchair lib?

I`m a lib, myself, if you haven`t noticed before. But not an armchair one.

Actually, it`s a dye. They use it to find out where any runoff can go, in case of future spills.
