    Not very good research.
    I have a 3 color male.
    black, grey & white.

I`m starting to think this guy just makes that poo up.

Completely skipped over the part where cats suck your life-breath out of you while you sleep.

@Gerry1: Grey is just a variation of black. Thus most "tabby" cats are grey with black stripes, but that`s not 3 colours even if they have white on them.

The 3 specific colours are: White, Black and Orange (tan). All cats that I know of are variations on 2 of those 3.

The "Russian Blue" is in fact, black and a variation of black (which looks blue-ish).

I cannot easily explain some cats:

Which sure LOOK to have all 3 colours! (Bengals)

Mine was a polydactile (thumbed ) tordi and she had the strange trait of trying to imitate things I did ane even tried to imitate noises Id make. She was also very trainable (for a cat ) and I taught her about 50 tricks she`d do on command.

I had a cat that had the + for both cat and dog.
Took care of itself like a cat does, yet likes to sit on my lap like a dog. Most don`t do that.

@edana42: Really? I`ve had lots of "lap cats"! Most of my feline friends were VERY people-friendly. Not my current "Leibshen" though, it`s -her way- or nothing! (lolz!) She`s weird.

I had an extra sweet kitty named "Winky" who was a "lap seeking missile"! You`d sit down, count to 3 and Presto! Winky on your lap!

One strange fact that was discovered over the past few years. Although the type of fur pattterning and colors is genetic, the exact pattern and colors is not. When they cloned a Calico and Tordi catsa few years ago, Their Clones although geniticall duplicates of their parent differed wildly in coat patterns.
