What? I`m fine with this. You think if the cable snaps a cage around you will keep you safe?

The kid is using the seatbelt.

It`s not like the chair in front of you will stop suddenly and you`ll plow into it...

In some places, this is part of the "everyday" commute... not around Winnipeg of course

*shrug* I`ve been on one of those. Ski lift. Plus, if you look at the bottom of the picture they`re like five feet above the ground. You can see the weeds.

It only gets interesting when the wind picks up and your board or skis try to pull you off the chair!

Yeah but you got 2 miles of steep hill to roll down before you hit something hard!

Looks fine, as someone said- it`s just a ski lift, not far off the ground, and that hill looks bloody steep.

A local ski mountain used to run its longest chairlift in the summer, and it was a great ride for just a few bucks. It was very much like this, except it crossed a sizeable cliff, and had to get up to a good 100 feet plus in the air.to do it. It would also stall for several minutes, whether for repair or to freak the riders, I don`t know. It was a bit unnerving to stop, sitting and swaying, high above the treetops at the base of the cliff.

funny how everybody is fine with machines like this, but americans seem to need extra safety, a steel cage around it and every body part strapped down so they can`t possibly fall out.. america is like a "special" child. If you can`t just sit still, don`t use it

There seems to be a black strap around the kid`s waist. Anyway, I would not go on that thing.

It looks fun. If you don`t like it, put on your helmet, elbow and knee pads and buckle-up and hide in the garage. Oh ya. and your hard hat, safety goggles and steel toed shoes.
