Despite having a beard, tats, a few piercings, and looking like a biker on a bad day, we are gentlemen.

Ha!! Who says chivalry is dead? If by chance any of those nice guys who did that (helped the girl) read this... we need more men like you out there.

Amen to that... No one I trust more in my circle of friends than the goths and metalheads. The normal ones have a larger tendency to be two faced. Goths and metalheads are more likely to just be real with you. We don`t waste our time being fake with people... If we like you, we make it clear that we like you. If we don`t, we just leave you alone.

People at an Elton John concert don`t bond.

People at metal and punk shows, do.

Been to many metal concerts.

Violent as poo, but as someone said, the unwritten rules are always followed. Anyone breaks them, they get broken.

Most metal punk goth etc are way more decent than most
average sorts
most are just interested in their chosen genre
and keep close company and are quite friendly
go into a known metal or goth pub,
safest place to be
we dont take sh it

Them feels, bro...

I can`t count how many times I`ve gone to a metal show, got in the mosh pit alone, and left with 5 or 6 new friends because in the process of beating each other up, you also help each other up... Not to mention how many times I`ve been the guy that stopped that random 100 lb girl from being mauled and trampled by a dozen 275 lb giants...(I went on to date one of those girls, matter of fact...)

We may have a dirty reputation because of the few rotten apples, but we are some of the nicest people you`ll ever meet.

Just goes to show, one apple can spoil the bunch. After all, the exposing guy who got punched in the face, was a metal head....

That`s another ridiculous stereotype about metal/hardcore/punk shows. We`re not all animals, the majority are the ones like those in this story who helped her out. You go there to have fun and if someone gets hurt accidentally people stop and help them up. If someone`s attacked/assaulted then the rest of the crowd will most likely beat the offender to bloody pulp.

I, and most others, feel safe at hardcore/metal shows as both a fan & a performer. The bands also don`t put up with any of that sh*t either, if they see it they`ll stop playing and straighten it out. People go to have fun, not get assaulted.

CodeJockey what if it`s someone referencing someone else`s story? Either way if true that would be quite honorable indeed. Top notch way to deal with trash like that. Mysterious concert heroes, I salute you.

The point of the post is one that if you have ever been in a mosh pit you already know. There`s an etiquette a load of unwritten rules. If someone goes down there`s not just one person offering a hand to pull them up there`s about 10. If someone`s there just to fight they quickly find themselves subdued. Most people wouldn`t think this of the average metal head but get to know us and you`ll probably find we`re some of the most genuine, honest, caring people around. Sorry rant over.

Wasn`t it the "Metal Men" who also exposed the girl?
