I disagree with the salt. Sodium tends to draw out moisture. For the best steak, high heat to sear (about three minutes a side) then move it to the non-flame area of the grill, cover for about five minutes. Yummm
Also, don`t buy the pre-wrapped meat. Go to the butcher and pay a bit more for well marbled prime.

@darkmagic14n you must be high. I am a trained executive chef and have butchered meat for over 20 years. You do not know what cut is the best. You know nothing. STFU.

God, I`m going to learn this by heart in case I ever get invited to to a BYOM grill at S----`s again. She was appalled at the idea of steak sauce and then cooked every steak well well-done. Like chewing leather. THAT`s a crime.

I`m not bucking for a Man Card, BTW. You can keep it.

Great tips. However, as a man that eats between 48 and 60 ounces of steak a week, I can attest, It doesn`t depend on what the cut is, as much as it depends on who is cooking it.

Hmmm.. I disagree. As per my own preference I like my steak to be bleeding. I have literally eaten raw steak out of the package. I love it, 30 seconds on one side, 30 seconds on the other and I`m good to go.

The only reason I need steak sauce is when they`re over-cooked and I need something to help me digest that dry crap.

    Good cuts only need salt.

This was obviously written by someone who takes their food entirely too seriously. FFS it`s a damn steak that I`m grilling myself. If I want a mouth-gasm I`ll pay the extra money to have someone cook it for me.

salting your steak early will only dry it out and make it tough. this entire thing is null after that miscue.

I agree with all this but I will use table salt because it contains iodine and I like A-1 Bold and Spicy in a dipping bowl on the side. And I always eat it with a raw sliced onion and some raw broccoli.

I happen to like the taste of A1, but I dont smother my steak with it. I prepare my steaks very much how it states to in the graphic (only I add a touch of garlic to the oil I use... It draws a light sweetness out of the meat), and many friends can attest that my steaks are to die for... But spending your entire life in kitchens, both at home and in career, you learn the proper way to do things...

I understand what he`s saying but I really like the peppercorn/red wine marinade I use. I usually cook two big steaks on a friday and the leftovers last all weekend. But, I`ve done it so often I`m a little pooped out on steak so I`m taking a break until it`s warm enough to grill outside.

Whatever. You can do it this way if you want, but it`s not the only way. Use seasonings to get the flavor you like it`s perfectly fine. To tell someone not to makes YOU the grade A non-nice individual.

Let the eater season the steak, rub the oil on the steak, don`t put it in the pan first and you may use English mustard with your steak, nothing else. Also to English people who may be wondering, A1 is watery brown sauce, why you would put something like that with steak I do not know
