"i don`t trust anyone who won`t eat bacon"

ANTI-SEMITE!!!!

Seriously though, the text shows the guy can`t tell the difference between a Muslim and an Islamist. I do wonder whether he wants to though.
It suits the hysterical types on both sides when someone does this. Keeps the media jerking itself off.

"you are just another narrow minded prude who thinks you poo don`t stink."

I guess there`s a first for everything. Never in my life have I been called a prude. Inappropriate sure, many times, but never a prude. Me thinks you may be projecting.

"...couldn`t tell the difference between someone who is Muslin and someone who is Hindu."

That`s easy enough, muslims will eat beef hindus won`t. In fact most hindus are vegetarian.

And I agree with paco, "i don`t trust anyone who won`t eat bacon"

Most of the idiots who are anti-Muslim couldn`t tell the difference between someone who is Muslin and someone who is Hindu. In the tech industry I work with both and have found them to be wonderful loving people.

We must all lead by example otherwise we`ll forget ourselves.

@5Cats - Yes, Saudi Arabia doesn`t have the same freedom Canada has. But isn`t that what makes Canada great?

However what I will say is that people should stop being so sensitive about Islam. If people don`t like it, they can go to a country that shares their views. If you want to live in a free country, you have to accept people will disagree with your views.

[quote] at least the majority of Christians will shout down or resist Christian extremists.

@Draculya: That`s an excellent point! Who shows up in large numbers to shout down the WBC? Christians! And everyone else too. But I`ve never once heard ANY other Christian Religion support them in any way.

Oh: The "men taken off the flight" was (supposedly) for not having screened their carry-on baggage properly, or some feeble excuse or another. Meanwhile EVERY Muslim nation treats "infidels" (ie: us!) like criminals. Just TRY to carry (or sneak!) a Bible into Saudi Arabia... go on, you`ll enjoy your prison time!

Canoas: I`m betting you had to dig really deep to find that one single picture of one lone sign.

I can google muslim extremist signs and find hundreds of pictures of protestors, all carrying large signs saying "Kill them" or something similar.

Do an experiment, Go ahead insult Jesus in a cartoon, What will happen? Nothing. Then insult Mohammed in a cartoon, But before you do expect to have your life turned upside down and have to live under guard the rest of your life.

This is probably why two men were taken off a flight from Boston yesterday for speaking Arabic.

And while I would agree that it`s excessive and racist, I think the non-jihadist Muslim communities of this world who complain that they are being tarred with the same brush as terrorists are tacitly supporting their zealots through passively failing to stop and dissuade them.

Although I laugh at Christianity and hate the majority of its churches, at least the majority of Christians will shout down or resist Christian extremists.

Muslims do not.

"SmagBoy: I don`t see any other religious group, except muslims, waving signs and banners saying "Kill Them" on a consistent basis."
Really? You haven`t? It appears you are blind then, because they`re drating everywhere.

@SmagBoy: Your ignorance about Islam is matched ONLY by your ignorance of Christianity...

It is a BLESSING FROM ALLAH to be poor!
EVERY religion on Earth has "sub-cults" which are NOT recognized by the vast majority of religious members!

And I do not recall the Branch Davidian setting of one single bomb... sure they were -accused- of nasty stuff, but then again so is Islam... Syria ring a bell?

Please apply the same rules to everyone, equally, thx.

"But they said it about us FIRST!"

Using this line of thinking the logical next step is a fight under the monkey bars.

When they say "Kill all infidels/Americans etc." it`s wrong (of course it is). But I don`t expect better from them, as their religious conviction makes them just crazy and completely ignorable, like those at WBC. I expect better from such "civilized" people.

CrakrJak, you see people like the Branch Davidians, Jeffries, Bo Gritz, etc., all claiming Christian ties, armed to the teeth, and ready to kill or be killed. I don`t go claiming they represent Christianity even though they claim they do. I`m not trying to argue with you about how people in the third world act. You`re right about it. Some small portion do act that way. But not nearly as many as TV makes it seem.

And, here`s a deal for you: if you ever see Muslims regularly acting like that here in US, I`ll concede the point, and say you`re right. But, in fact, they don`t do it here. So, to me, it`s not the religion, but a few very angry people living in a third world country with 50%+ unemployment, HUGE wealth inequity and loads of anger. *That`s* what causes that kind of threatening behavior. At least IMHO.

All that said, there are certainly discussions to be had about tolerance from religious groups here (but that`s not limited to Islam). ;-)

cityncolour: But that so called `threat` isn`t a call to action for others to commit acts terrorism. That`s a big difference.

i tend to believe that a threat of eternal tourture is just as offensive as a threat of death. maybe it`s just me.

Yes the WBC is a hateful bunch, but they number less than a dozen, and I`ve yet to see them wave a "Kill Them" sign around.

*They* say the same about *us*? No, a tiny, tiny minority of people claiming to represent Islam act like idiots, just like a tiny, tiny minority of all manner of groups act like idiots. Should I show pictures of Dr. Tiller being killed, or Eric Rudolph bombing Atlanta and claim they represent Christianity? There are idiots in all walks of life. But they`re the significant minority.

Except he`s compared himself with radical Islam. Can`t fight fire with fire and all that.

So... is this insensitive because he joked "kill them all" or because he`s a conservative AND joked "kill them all"?

I get so confused with the rules on what we`re supposed to be offended by.
