well, it`s good they are doing wood fins. It`s been a while since I looked and back then all I saw were plastic fins. Is everyone ok now?

Shouldn`t have to look hard, An-egg. Estes still makes a ton of rocketry stuff (I just checked!) that should be available thru any general hobby store. http://www.estesrockets.com/

If you look hard enough you can still get the cardboard and balsa ones, I burned off a load of them last year at the end of school with my kids.

Um, we were studying parabolas or something, but mostly we were just firing rockets.

"Or you could get a model rocket kit..... yes I was a dorky child."

Wow, probably the only thing we have in common. Model rockets rock! Although, nowadays they have those pre-made plastic fins that take all the challenge out of it. Putting on the balsa wood fins perfectly straight was at least 80% of the challenge. Packing the chute right is most of the rest.
