It`s a shame people can`t get passed the safety of what they like.

Beyond genres and style and perception of music, these guys are just some of the greatest music makers of the last 20 years.

You don`t have to like it, but you`re wrong. Same as people who hate metal without giving it a try. Bands like Meshuggah and Tool are examples of bands that go beyond just a style or label and everyone should hear them.

This is going to be amazing. The collaborations on it too are amazing and some are legendary artists:

    Panda Bear
    Giorgio Moroder
    Nile Richards
    Julian Casablanca
    Pharrell Williams

"It`s a shame people can`t get passed the safety of what they like."

Why, oh why, do people always have to go and say something stupid like that? Since when is enjoying whatever music one enjoys while ignoring what they don`t make that person "afraid" of what they don`t like to listen to? Don`t give me that sh*t, I listen to everything from Death Metal to MoTown, Delta Blues, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, you name it. It`s about personal preference, that attempt at making someone else try to sound like a douchebag hipster music snob always backfires and makes you sound like the douchebag.

@aquaman1227 - Nope, I like the original TRON film just fine. I`m sure the new one was grade A, pure, Hollywood CGI bullsh*t. I`ll pass...

Whoa Whodat, take it down a notch. I`m not saying you have to like it. In fact I actually wrote that.

You don`t like it IDK. And I don`t care what else you listen to I`m certain you`re home is a cornucopia of music from all backgrounds and styles. Like the United Colors Benetton.

I`m just making the point that though some people don`t like dance music, rightfully so considering that most of it is crap. Which it is. These guys are the exception and that`s my point.

I`m not writing this to be cool. I`m too old and far being any semblance of a hipster to worry about that. I`m just saying as a fan of music I`d expect less judgement from such a small clip and instead I`d expect an open ear when other music fans are saying it worth a listen.

That`s the meaning behind my statement: "It`s a shame people can`t get passed the safety of what they like." Regardless if it`s Motown, Kpop, or Black Metal.

Well.. the caption on the video seems to say something different than the caption for this post. But if it`s what it appears to be.. though it sounds interesting, Daft Punk should only be doing things with Daft Punk!

peakingo, just an aside, here. I would give country music more of a try if it didn`t sound like country music. I probably only like, at most, five songs in the entire genre, and I`ve generally figured out that I don`t like most of the rest of it. So if someone suggests to me a country song, I will tell them that if I happen to come across it, I`ll try to listen to it at least once. But I`m not going out of my way to look it up just because they give it glowing reviews. I just can`t stand country music. This is my response to your thing about getting past one`s comfort zones.

"You don`t have to like it, but you`re wrong." is just rude and stupid to say. But as I`m smart enough to not take it as fact, I`ll take it as opinion. I love Daft Punk, but others may not.

whodat, calm down dude. It`s unnecessary and useless to be so hostile.

Now I suggest you both just go listen to music you like and stop ripping eachother apart :D

@peakingo - Regardless of what you meant, it comes off like a douchebag hipster music snob comment because that`s EXACTLY what they say. I hear it every time I`m at my local record store and the only reason I don`t tear one of those hipsters a new one is because the two owners of the store happen to be good friends of mine and I don`t want to kill any of their customers.

The dumbest thing I ever heard was just this weekend. As I was browsing through the Hardcore/Punk 7" section I overhear two hipsters talking about Howlin` Wolf. My brain nearly exploded when one said, "I don`t understand how people can listen to this. I mean, it`s great music, Howlin` Wolf is a legend and an amazing blues musician. I love all of his songs but he still sucks."
