So you watched it again @stell, and again ignored the fact that she was actively resisting an officer when the second officer arrived right along with her (so called innocent) partner right?

I watched the video again and the fact is that cop had control of the woman within seconds. The woman kept repeating "I`m pregnant", incredulous and pleading at ~0:19 while you can still hear the buzz of the taser. This guy run in there not diffuse the situation but to get his kicks by beating someone up, it`s pretty obvious. He already had her dragged away and was holding her by her arms. She wasn`t resisting - she was resisting GETTING DOWN ON THE GROUND - pretty difficult task when fat and preganant.

Do you people seriously believe he still needed to taser her? Some of you are commenting that one should use "common sense" when dealing with cops - don`t resist, etc. etc. Here is an idea - how about if the f**cking cops are taught to use commoon sense when dealing with the public - such this situation - an excited, preganant, unarmed woman who actually called them and then watched her (proabably innocent) partner get arrested. I`m appalled.

piperfawn-"You want that i say that i were wrong thinking that this cop have endangered the life"

While ANYone with any bit of sanity or intelligence knows exactly WHO endangered the child (that would be the mother and `alleged` baby-daddy), no one here expects piperfawn to:
1) qualify as sane or intelligent enough to realize it or
2) admit it even if the obvious DID dawn on him.

I want what you`re too much of a coward to do and that is admit you were wrong. I`m fairly certain that is what anyone that posted in this thread would want. But like I said you`re too afraid to admit you were so that will never happen.

I never once told you what you had to post. I simply suggested that you do a little more research than that little bigoted head of yours allows you to do.

I`d also suggest taking a reading course. You know, the one that teaches you how to read everything and not skip over to just the things you wish to see.

I think @MeGrendel hit the nail on the head and the time zone thing still has you confused.

I watched my son play it from beginning to end I don`t need to play it myself but that doesnt change the fact you went out of your way to make reference to it. And please, at any given time I can go to any video site and type in a search for police brutality in any country and plenty pop up so don`t use that as an excuse. Seems all you have are excuses.

Canada for example

Does this mean all Canadian cops are bad? Nope. Does it mean brutality happens in all places not just the US? Yep.

djwajda in bioshock i have reported what i heard about the game from an american web site for videogames. And playng it i saw was true.have you ever played it? This video is from LiveLeak and not from YouTube. I could search some video of police abuse from other country but trusth me is really hard in the ocean of video that report violence from your cops. Go and check. Oh maybe you can submit some video you too, i just noticed you have zero submission.

You just don`t get it do you? It`s not just this thread. Almost every thread you rear your ugly face in has something anti-american in it. You even did it in the bioshock game post. You could have gone to youtube and picked any countries police. Hell, you could even have picked an actual brutality vid from the US.

I`m sorry if somewhere down the line some american tourist pissed you off or something but it`s no excuse for constant bashing of all things american. This thread is also a prime example of you not being able to admit you are wrong even when multiple people show you that you are.

It`s a good example of you can dish it out but you can`t take it. It`s all good and funny to you when you make your little comments and insults but someone does it to you and they`re stupid or dumb or in this case prejudiced. Maybe a good long look in the mirror will tell you who the prejudiced one is.

@TheOrigin
Not sure what country you`re actually from but at least you`re bringing a level headed approach to this discussion.

First and foremost I would never condone brutality by law enforcement.Let`s be honest here this was not an incident of brutality, it was an incident that escalated to a point where the tazer was used because the so called `victim` failed to comply and was actually involved in aggression against a cop when the second arrived.

Now, could other approaches be used? Yes. Does it always happen? No. And why do you ask? It`s pretty simple. Different officers react differently based on experience. Personally as law enforcement I hated tazers and I`m glad I never had to actually use one because they hurt like hell.

The problem with this post from the beginning and I think you can see it from the majority of the responses is that @piperfawn uses anything to cast his anti-USA bigotry out in the open.

To be perfectly fair, the cops could have handled it better. True, we don`t have ghetto thrash and baby momma fatha gangsta whateva, but we DO have gypsies. Approximately the same level of obnoxiousness, lack of common sense, lots of common behavior patterns.

The thing is, no matter how obnoxious they become there has not been a single incident of our cops using tazers as a means of resolving the situation and lo and behold, we carry on peacefully. There always is an alternative, maybe dare I say a more civilized one.

Also, there is a lot of common sense in compliance with authorities (to an extent, if that becomes abusive you are by all rights entitled to stand up), but with all due respect if this is common practice and you view it as completely natural and right...well... My view is that of an outsider and comparing to other countries I do find it way over the top and the compliance to such as unbelievable.

stell-"Why is bad manners and general moron-like behaviour punishable by tasering?"

Many times general moron-like behavior can get you more than a tasering. (and this was not `punishment`, but a `means of control`)

In this case, it was not just `bad manners and general moron-like behavior` that got her tased.

It was both of them `actively fighting with an officer of the law`. That will get you tased, or shot, any day of the week whether you`re black, white, male, female, pregnant or a paraplegic.

IF YOU DO SO, IT`S POSSIBLE YOU WILL GET TASERED.

The fact that you`re pregnant will not shield you from the consequences of your stupidity.

It`s really not that difficult a concept.

Only a few are defending the cop most are saying, "Lady, what did you expect to happen when you act like that?" The reason that it`s the only thing being said is probably just a feigned state of apathy caused by the situation where one has no personal power to change things that happen to other people, happen in the past, and what is socially acceptable to say. I bet there is a phrase for that in German.

what the drafting f**ck is the matter with all of you defending the actions of the cops? You`re defending them because the woman was not polite so she deserved it??? Why is bad manners and general moron-like behaviour punishable by tasering? What was she arrested for? Resisting arrest? Basically the cops can do anythiing to you as long as they keep yelling stop resisting while they`re doing it, is that how it works? What a bunch of aholes. There is no way this cop`s life was in danger, using a taser and throwing her on the ground is incomprehesible to me even if she wasn`t pregnant. The fact that she was AND told him makes this cop a psychopath who should be brought up on criminal charges.

piperfawn-"and maybe be illuminated"

You couldn`t illuminate a single Christmas light.

To paraphrase another great author: "For nowadays the world is lit by lightning! Blow out your candles, piper, and say goodbye."

piperfawn-" Oh and "the world is round and time zone thing" is ambivalent"

To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, `You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.`

Time zones and the Earth as a Globe can not be `ambivalent`. YOU can be ambivalent towards either, but they themselves can not be. They simply are.

Would you like some help finding a word that is more appropriate? I hear the library has some nice dictionaries and thesauri. Every little bit would help to push back your ignorance.

dont want to listen to a cop`s commands? you deal with the circumstances. doesnt matter what your situation is, listen to and follow their commands when they tell you to do something or you will get hurt. and shame on her for trying to use her baby as a excuse to avoid the pain she knows is coming her way. basically like a human shield. its like when woman hits someone and then tells them they cant hit her back because she is pregnant. dont want to risk the baby? then dont put your baby in risky situations. this lady gets no sympathy from me.

piperfawn-"time come during the discussion and not after hours"

There`s a little thing called `time-zones`, which means `after hours` for some of us will be `prime hours` for others and `early hours` for others. This is caused because the world is round and its rotation gives different daylight areas to different surfaces at different part of the day.

But, in your case, ALL of your hours are `ignorant hours`.

piperfawn, what you base your argument on and what is WRONG is that the officer did NOT endanger the unborn child. I did not see the mother convulse uncontrollably and poo herself. He applied controlled electric shocks to her legs as far as I have read so that she gets on the ground to be subdued.
This does NOTHING to the kid and he also did NOT let her fall down uncontrolled and slam her pretty head.

@Piper, I not justifying the actions of the police and am actually concerned for the baby, which is imperative that you understand.

How are you not putting blame on the mother for flipping out while preggo and putting her child`s life in danger. Not necessarily from the attack from the police but from her blood pressure rising while pregnant, which isn`t good for the child.

I think at this point you`re just fighting to defend your pride without realizing the ridiculousness of this semantical argument you`re trying to make.

If you really are concerned for the baby, then the actions of the mother are 100% relevant.

I`m not saying the cops are innocent, but come on let`s have some sense of accountability for her role. If she was calm the cops would`ve been calm. They didn`t just show up looking to taze her.

After the fact, according to reported news sources, she actually REFUSED EMT treatment.

Male 4,891

You`re crazy piper. I think it`s clear to everybody that the only innocent one here is the unborn. I also think it`s clear to everybody (except you) that it`s the mothers responsibility to protect the unborn. Taser or not, she shouldn`t be getting physical especially with the police. The police tased her before anybody even yelled out "she`s pregnant". Should he assume that every fat chick is pregnant?

She was obviously a superior threat, compared to those little piggies. And babies in the womb learn about the environment through the mom. Obviously, this kid has learned that there are non-nice individual cops out there in the real world. Welcome, little one! Oh, and your momma is a thief.

Can someone in this damn discussion think about the baby instead to continuosly point the finger on the mom behaviour? I don`t give a drat what the mom have done, i am concerned of what a police officer have done to an unborn child. police is supposed to protect the innocents, not to threat their lifes, no matter what the situation is.

Male 4,891

Piperfawn - So you would be upset at her, and rightfully so because she was acting like a friggen moron. I guess the point I`m trying to make is that the woman should bear responsibility for the child she carry`s. IMO the cop could have tried to handle the situation with out the taser.

I think that police constantly over use the taser. It`s almost like they don`t even try to calm down the situation anymore. They show up, fan the flames then pull out the taser. I know that cops have to be tased during their training. I think that every time a cop uses a taser on someone, he should be tased, as a reminder of what they do to others. Maybe then they would have incentive to find peaceful solutions.

Smart cop for understanding the situation and choosing the appropriate tool to best protect the child from a fall. There are much better examples of police brutality out there than this.

It`s not even the fact that she didn`t comply with the officer`s orders, it`s the fact that she was actively impeding the police by pulling on her baby`s Daddy:

"I`m pulling on my daughter`s father. I did not touch a police officer. I know not to touch a police officer," said White.

I know it`s difficult, but acting like civilized people results in being treated like civilized people most of the time.

This might very well be a language barrier thing, because in Italian "assassino" means both murderer, as well as assassin, cutthroat, etc. The thing is, in English you have different words with different nuances that slightly alter the meaning. In Italian, the same word is used to encompass the various meanings.

@piperfawn you`re about as dumb as the day is long. Either that or your fear of being proven wrong is so great that you just simply deny the facts presented. Such a sad, sorry life you must live having to constantly make yourself look like a moron.

Poor baby, to have such a stupid mother.
If she was so concerned about her unborn child why didn`t she get on the ground the first 6 times the cops told her to? "Get on ground or you`ll get tased".

Got a chuckle from the guy yelling,
That`s my muthafudgecin baby momma man!"
Or the Oxford definition if you prefer

Definition of assassin
noun

Either way, you fail

Well yet again you fail with your video there @piperfawn. Maybe you should learn what a `beat down` is as compared to a `takedown`. Also maybe you should learn what it is for the soldier in the video to do what he did when he decided he was going to get agressive with a police officer. keep going though, you might find a video that actually shows brutality.

turdburglar A good police officer must understand the situation, a good police officer have to notice the particular situation of a pregnant woman that just got an accident, a good police officer must try to calm down the situation not to escalate it with violence. A good police officer go further the behaviour of an agitated woman and don`t taze her and use force on her. She was not the harmless lamb prone to give his hands for the handcuffs? A good officer try to calm the situation with words and knowledge, a bad officer, like this one, answer with violence. If an officer see a mom not so concerned about his kid healt don`t threat the healt of the kid,a good officer protect that kid. the fact the mom as you say was careless don`t justify in anyway the violence this cop have committed on the kid.

So Amanda Knox is an assassin? Hmmm let`s explore that. An assassin is normally paid by a 3rd party to kill someone. So what you`re saying @piperfawn is that someone paid to have Merideth Kircher killed right? Last time I bothered to check the facts they focused solely on Knox and her boyfriend. Sooooo, by your ummmm, logic, that would make the Italian police even more shoddy and inept than originally thought since there`s never been mention of an assassination plot.

MelCervini she was not breaking the law, she was the one that call the cops for a minor accident occured in the park lot. After some other video of the same kind i`ve learned one thing about your cops style, never call the police also when you are the victim. There is an hig possibility that police come and beat you.Cop Beats US Soldier To The Floor For Complaining

Piperfawn - I have no love for the police, and think they way over use tasers. I gotta say that in this situation the mother put herself into a stupid situation. You act as if the police are completely in the wrong here.

Let me ask you: If this was your pregnant wife in the video, can you honestly say that you wouldn`t be pissed at her for acting that way, and putting the unborn child in that situation?

@piperfawn

I`m well aware of Italys hatred for the US like people constantly throwing things at military bases and you expect me to belive you want to retry her because she`s an assassin and not because of where she`s from.

Poor baby. Getting tased because it`s mother is stupid, getting into fights while pregnant and not listening to police.

piperfawn: Amanda Knox was acquitted because the evidence against her was so small that it couldn`t be tested for DNA, thus the case against her fell apart.

Apparently you people in Italy don`t have the double jeopardy rule, which is a shame. She won`t be sent back to Italy for another trial, by the US.

I`m not making a judgement on whether she did it or not, but if she did, then the fault for her acquittal rests with your country`s shoddy police work.

You never know; the kid might turn out to have a 160 IQ, and then every mother like her would go around trying to fight the cops and get tased.

Let`s forget the fact she was already fighting..wait a minute, that would be a disregard for that baby from the beginning.

And by telling us to go `frak` ourselves does that mean we don`t have to read your pathetic drivel anymore @piperfawn?

Better luck with the next video eh?

McGovern1981 what about Amanda Knox? She is an assassin and i allready have explained that she was not released as innocent when she come back in your country. In the past, while all was happy for the release of this assassin, i explained that in Italy we have 3 degrees of process. In the first she was guilty, in the second after some "external pressure" she was released as non guilty just cause of some "strange" anomaly during the second debate and she go back to US. But there is still the third definitive part of the process to wait in wich she can be proved guilty.

@piperfawn
That`s not a police beating. That`s her own stupidity.
Saying that the cops can`t tase her because she`s pregnant is like saying that cops can`t tackle me if I`m naked and standing on gravel, because I would scratches and cuts. IT WOULD BE MY OWN FAULT!

If anything this just shows that she`s wreckless with her baby and doesn`t care enough about it to protect it.

I really don`t feel any sympathy. He told her several times to get on the ground. She chose not to do it. She chose to put her babies life in danger. Unless the department has a policy against tazing pregnant women, he did everything right; in my opinion.

thefatviking actually pretending that an 8 month pregnant woman have to go face on the ground and forcing her to it is kinda beating, not only for the woman but also for the baby inside the womb.
