@chalket Okay, I`ll try this one more time, and if you don`t get it this time, I`m writing you off as a hopeless f***tard.

There is nothing illegal about questioning a suspect without advising him of his Miranda rights or allowing him access to a lawyer. All it means is that if you do, you cannot use his statements against him in court.

That`s it. Is that so hard to understand?

I think the last part was interesting, not the brother either...that seemed like his arm with no backpack...but yeah...that other guy seems to have lost HIS backpack...the one that looks like the bombing backpack.

@CoyoteKing, the ONLY thing the Miranda ruling said is that if you do not advise a suspect of his rights, you cannot use his statements against him in court; if you do so advise him, you can use his statements against him. Regardless of whether we read him his rights, we are not going to be able to use his statements against him because they will either be inadmissable, or he won`t tell us anything at all.

So, what you you rather have, statements that are inadmissible as evidence but might lead us to his co-conspirators and stop future attacks, or no statements at all? We opted for the latter, because we`re a bunch of chumps.

"I thought you believed in free speech ."

Making death threats against the President is a limitation of the freedom of speech no matter how weird and harmless it is. It would be like someone yelling fire in a crowded movie theater but in a weird way where you couldn`t tell if the person was kidding or not.

I agree with OldOllie. Plus, conspiracy nuts will do anything to believe that crap.

Perhaps he wasn`t read his Miranda rights because he was shot in the throat and face along with a few other areas.

"Officials cited a public safety exemption" poo like that scares the poo out of me. At some point when this exemption was made the people in power to do so gave away freedom for security, which pretty much always turns out bad.

"i too found it very unsettling when i heard for the first time that he was NOT given Miranda rights."

There`s nothing unsettling about this. It was all over the news why they did this (including Fox News). "Officials cited a public safety exemption in declining to read Tsarnaev his Miranda rights." This gave them 48 hours to question him freely. A few Republican representatives wanted him listed as an enemy combatant so they could question him for 30 days, but you can`t do that because he is a US citizen. You would think someone making our laws would know that.

It`s healthy not to trust your government but there is a fine line where that turns into crazy. Case in point the first two callers on this video. This is what happens to a persons brain when they believe things on the Internet.

@OldOllie: i too found it very unsettling when i heard for the first time that he was NOT given Miranda rights. I wonder if its because they have no intention of giving him a chance in court but rather straight to Guantanamo Bay, possibly thinking if they can do it this time it will make it easier to punish people like that in the future, making a slippery slope of loss of rights for citizens. But I really have no idea, I just see this whole deal as fishy with the way it has been handled.

This whole thing is idiocy writ large. The false-flag conspiracy nuts don`t even deserve a response; however, the question of Miranda does. Without Miranda, you cannot use a suspect`s statements against him in court. In this case, though, we don`t NEED his statements to convict him. What we DO need, though, is names of those who trained, assisted, and funded the attack. However, if he`s Mirandized, his lawyer will advise him to STFU altogether. In either case, we would get NOTHING to use against him in court, so why not see if we can get some actionable intelligence?

It`s moot now, though. We`ve already read him his rights. Next we`ll give him a team of government-paid ACLU lawyers and an OJ jury.

Meanwhile, his whole worthless f***ing family is on welfare and food stamps.

We`re idiots

I can kind of get that last part, though his voice is offputting. The "brother" picture, I think that was still all his arm, no backpack. But that other guy......
