Sadly, I agree in principle. Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? There has to be a better way. I asked a few folks, well, why can`t we have two sets of laws? You lefties live by your laws and I`ll live by the conservative version. They thought I was nuts and that will never work! Well, things are going soooooooooo great now! :)

Welcome to my world brother.

CrakrJak-"I really don`t see bias in those questions."

If that is a true statement, and you really don`t see the inherent bias in questions 2 & 4 down, then you`ve just exposed your own bias and/or ignorance.

"Abortion is legal, right? Who`s trying to limit it? "

The GOP-controlled states are trying to limit abortion by:
1. Changing the time you can legally have one to a time that`s impossibly short, before most women even know they are pregnant
2. Defining a fetus as a citizen with full rights at conception. Which would also outlaw many forms of birth control and IVF
3. Putting onerous standards on abortion clinics so they have to shut down because they can`t meet them. Several states only have one clinic left that does abortions and they will have to close if the laws aren`t repealed.
4. Forcing women to have unnecessary vaginal ultrasounds to try to guilt them into not having an abortion

@SmagBoy1: Tell that to people in New York State and California: Both Democrat Governments have used the "hastily passed" "new gun laws" to TAKE people`s guns away! Not "50 years ago" ffs, 2013!

It is not a myth: it`s a fact. It`s not "might happen" it has already begun...

Watch for the same in Colorado and other "midnight vote States" that passed stupid bills... not that the MSM will cover it of course

5Cats, none of those people you named are talking about taking anyone`s guns. Let`s not make untruths here. Sure, they`re talking about implementing controls (e.g. no clips beyond a certain amount, no sales of certain guns), but they aren`t talking about taking any guns that`ve already been legally bought.

Too, just to be clear, no one with even basic understanding of history believes that Democrats pre-1960, you know, pre-Dixiecrat migraton, pre-Southern Strategy are the Democrats of today or of the last 50 years. It`s intellectually dishonest to even try that. Everyone knows full well that they`re the very base of today`s Republican party. The idea that you`re having to go back 50 years, and willfully distorting the history to try to highjack an idealogy says something pretty damning about the current philosophy of your party.

@SmagBoy: Except... you know... THE ONES IN CHARGE!!!
Like the PotUS, and the VPotUS, and Harry Reid... and Dianne Feinstein...
ASIDE from those? Only about HALF the Dems want to "grab all the guns"...

There`s -ways- to amend the US Constitution, BUT the Dems know they have ZERO support for overturning the 2nd Amendment, correct? So they try this "end around" where they distract the masses with "save the children" bullshiite while undermining the RIGHTS of law abiding citizens...

While at the same time trying to give "rights" to NON-citizens... FFS!

@SmagBoy1 - As far as Liberals/Democrats go, that`s really the only thing I don`t like about their platform and you could say it`s the only thing that keeps me from being categorized as a "liberal."

By far, the Republicans/Conservatives are the party that`s blatantly attempting to restrict personal freedoms with their reason being that they just don`t like it. I think it`s absurd that, for the most part, the only reason they`re against gay marriage is because of their religious views. If you don`t like it because "god says it`s wrong" that`s fine but the constitution says your god doesn`t get to make the rules so tough sh*t, deal with it.

whodat6484, I agree that it could be argued that any gun legislation, of any sort, is a taking of a civil liberty. I`ll grant that. I see it more as a "delay" of a civil liberty, in that instead of being able to buy a gun today, you might have to wait a couple of days on a background check, but, okay, I`ll grant you that. You didn`t name any other Democratic ideals/positions/philosophies that limits any civil liberties. I`m not trying to argue with you, I`ll agree with you, as you see, if you name some that are valid. But I don`t see any others in your post.

@SmagBoy1 - I disagree, both parties have views on all those issues I just listed that fundamentally limit and/or deny civil liberties to an extent.

whodat6484, very few, if any serious Democrats are trying to take anyone`s guns. Sure, they`re saying, just like with a car, that licenses should have certain requirements, and that, just like a care, some limitations should be placed on extreme upper end of the market, but by and large, there are very few real restrictions being forwarded. And other than already-illegal guns, no one is trying to take guns as a matter of policy. In other words, people`s rights to bear arms are not being threatened. The only proposals are regulations. Also allowing gays to marry isn`t taking anyone`s rights. Nor is allowing other people to have abortions. There`s a significant difference in the party philosophies, and if conservatives don`t want to known as restricting personal freedoms, perhaps they should knock it off.

If both liberals & conservatives would just stop trying to force their ways on each other, each claiming their way is the right way, and find some middle ground we`d be good to go.

Instead you have liberals saying we want you to be able to choose whether or not you want an abortion, we don`t care who you marry as long as you both love each other, it`s your choice... but... we want your guns.

Then you have conservatives who say you don`t have a choice, you have to have that baby, sorry. What`s that? Two guys/girls love each other and want to get married? Nope! But here, everyone can have a gun if they`d like.

The problem here is that those on either side don`t want their rights taken away and neither will budge. Well, if you don`t want your rights taken away then don`t f*cking try to take someone else`s rights away.

I know, it`s a shame when the entire school system is against you. And all colleges and universities. And all global climate scientists. And all news outlets (except one shining beacon of hope). And all of Hollywood. And every voter in the country who votes Democrat, being as they`re all leeches and takers. It must be a shame when the dictionaries are against you and your own politicians, even, seem to be against you, on the one hand calling themselves brave by speaking at a historically black school and on the other using phrases like n*****rigging or w**backs to describe how other human being work or came to this country, as opposed to themselves. Must be tough when everyone`s against you--except, of course, you know, half the country. Sigh.

-Abortion is legal, right? Who`s trying to limit it?
-Practice of all religions near Ground Zero? Who`s trying to make it only Christians who can?
-Voting for all legal adult citizens is a right, right? Who`s trying to limit it by introducing all manner of requirements favoring one group over another?

Need I go on? If you don`t like how your movement/party/belief system is defined, instead of attacking the person defining it, perhaps a good look in the mirror is in order?

It`s subtle, but it`s 100% saturated into the school system. US, Canada, Europe? All of them. From Kindergarten to University you get leftist brainwashing every single day...

It`s a fact, Jack!
