Just a minute in, I kept expecting a Greyhound bus to roll over him. And the rednecks on the bus would throw their spent beer bottles on top of his dying corpse. And some of the bottles would be full of piss, since the toilets on the `hounds are usually semi-functional, at best.

And, could this be any more tedious?

The voice is annoying, but the fact that the little lego looking dude spend 20 minutes standing in the middle of the f.ucking road was doing my head in too.

2 and a half minutes in and he`s still referring to u.s. as his "alcoholic brother" .. it`s a total waste of time.

I agree with much of what he has to say, but the this video is painful to listen to. Anyone got the link to the written version?

This is why I think American Exceptionalism is such a joke. If you think you are the best by virtue of the accident of your birth, then you have no motivation to try harder. If we want to be world leaders, we should expect to prove it every day.

Theoretically, I was interested in the content, but the robo-voice made this unbearable. Tried several times, gave up each time after 30 seconds. Or should I say: "Try-duh sevERal TIMES?, gave op EACH time af-TER thirsty sek-UNDZ." >.<

I`m a born and raised American, left at 16 and came back about 5 years ago, and I feel like Valentine Michael Smith.
People, for the most part, got fat, rude and self-entitled.

Talking about American arrogance in the most arrogant fashion possible nice try!

Yes Drac cause Asia is so kind and caring to it`s fellow man.... Like China`s love for baby girls and the countless videos we`ve seen here LOL!

"This video makes some very good points. Rather than saying "We`re Murica, we don`t need to hear this crap" some of us should take the 20 mins to consider that we have a lot of improvements to make."
It`s not about not needed to hear it, it`s about that voice BEING FCKING UNBEARABLE. Just 10 seconds of it makes me want to brutally smash the dude`s face against concrete over and over again.

Lots of defensive Americans here...

Trying to be impartial here, try reading the text version rather than complaining about the video.

I`m not saying I agree with everything that was said (or even have opinions on much of it!) - but if someone said England has x,y,z problems... I wouldn`t get all defensive by saying *oh, but England does all this good stuff too!*, *we supply aid to other countries that then moan about us after* etc etc... I`d do my homework and check the facts for myself.

"As for me, I agree with every single word. Like the author, I`ve lived all over the country (I was in the Navy and stationed all over, including Idaho Falls, interestingly). I`ve also lived in Europe and visited and/or been deployed to Africa, Asia and the Middle East. And this author is dead on."

Smag, I was attached to two US forces units in the military, one abroad, one based back here in the UK - your view seems pretty consistent with how they felt too. The ones that served in the UK did say they`d had a little orientation training on toning down all the stuff like the `hoorah, we`re the best` kinda crap because it just doesn`t go down well in a lot of countries.

Personally speaking I loved being on the US units...you certainly treat your servicemen and veterans better than we do, and the local middle aged women and men around the USAF base in the UK loved the respectful nature of their servicemen...calling everyone sir or maam and being polite.

This video makes some very good points. Rather than saying "We`re Murica, we don`t need to hear this crap" some of us should take the 20 mins to consider that we have a lot of improvements to make. I want this country to live up to it`s potential, instead of basing our success and worth purely on material wealth, military might and consumption.

Blog Linked: 17 July 2012
Original Blog: 10 July 2012

I`d link them, but the "Original Blog" is Trez Creepy! 270 long, rambling opinion packed posts with little or no facts.

Not bad if that`s what you like, I guess. But he calls the place: "A rational Self Help Site For Men."

So you really have a point to make and want to share it. But you`re just so insecure about it. What do?

Go extremely out of your way to produce a twenty minute, limited animation video and have a robotic voice synthesizer narrate your speech. Begin your top 10 by preemptively defending yourself against all those naysayers who doubt you (because you`re so insecure) and prattle one about why you`re giving us an opinion, why you`re qualified and why we shouldn`t dare even assume that you`re just a prick without a job and too much wasted talent.

Did I nail it?

"We are the most generous country in the world. We supply food, medical aid, and money to undeserving countries who will gladly take our help and then bad mouth us along the way."
You do realise that what you give those countries is nowhere near what you take from them, right?

Isnt it cute how a guy who says he`s spent more time in European/Asian/South American countries think he`s an authority on the US?

Sounds like someone`s spent too much time being told what people in the US are than living the US lifestyle himself.

He may see us as the alcoholic brother, but as an American I see guys such as this to be my douchy little half-brother who`s clueless about his own family history because his head is too far up his own douchy ass :)

And I don`t think we`re an "alcoholic brother".

We`re naive and overconfident, we don`t take advice readily or well, we step on everyone`s toes, though we genuinely mean well. Master of the mixed message. Childlike in our best form, childish at our worst.

We genuinely care about doing the right thing when we`re clear headed and responsible. We invent, try new things, inevitably F**ck up and start all over again with something better. We are in short:

Oh Alfred, Chief, what am I gonna do with you? ;-)

@modwain: At the YouTube site there`s a link to his homepage, where this text is posted. It`s some sort of German site but the blog is written in English.

@ReBoot: I was viewing with an open mind, trying to not get all political over it. Imagine my disappointment.

4. Kinda relative isn`t it?

5. Knew that, wealth inequality and so on and so forth...

6. Knew that too, somewhere I once read, "People think China is all about breathing in smog in a Mao suit, turns out that`s not the whole story..."

7. Oh yes. Especially since 9/11. And it can be scary when a superpower loses the rational ability to understand real threats verses the shadows dancing in our imaginations. Bad things happen. I`ve lived through an intense historical period full of that.

.8,.9,.10- Awww come on man, now you`re just getting preachy. And nobody likes preachy, it`s like your grandma admonishing you for every little thing. Geez.

I thought this was a message from Anonymous. This sounds like a kid who backpacked around in Europe for a summer with daddy`s money and thinks he knows everything that needs to be known and how to fix America.
I`ll say a couple of things. We are the most generous country in the world. We supply food, medical aid, and money to undeserving countries who will gladly take our help and then bad mouth us along the way. Then, when they get in trouble, we go back to the same countries to bail their ass out again. Also, the United State is not a Democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic. We integrate Democratic policies.

Thanks Smagboy, lemme see...

1. Never knew we were supposed to brag about being a gringo, and I know we don`t do everything superbly. "Whoop de f**ing doo"? But...but I like the English and the Aussies. I`m totally OK with this. Moving on.

2. Ohhh that`s good to hear, and yes it definitely is a good marker of political bent, see my generous penitential Liberal sackcloth?
It`s very trendy.

3. True, but in our defense anything that happens here may as well be happening on the surface of Pluto. Which is not so bad sometimes, we`ve got all this convenient distance between us and any major threat, and in WW2 POWs sent here just had to cool their heels and chill. They knew they`re not going home unless they can hijack an ocean liner.

Mulling the next few points...

#6 Moving beyond stupid into "lunatic leftism" now... 12 minutes is all I could endure.

Japan has nice railroads? Yes it does! They also work longer hours than Americans (I thought that was BAD!) and have longer commutes (Also BAD!).

What`s bad for America is A-OK for everyone else!
Singapor? Hong Kong? This guy`s visited the shining jewel in the crowns! Go to 1,000 OTHER cities in 100 OTHER countries and see what "slums" really are... and just how many people live in them.

Mexico City
Manila
Anywhere in southeast Asia -except- those two cities (and Bangkok)...

3:56 of introduction...
1 - Real Estate Agents and Prostitutes? Hoo-Boy! Off to a rocky start...
2 - A "Bush Joke" O`Really? What`s next, a Reagan joke? Isn`t there a time limit on political "humour"? 3 years? 5? This is dated 2012 on it`s website...

"That Teddy Roosevelt, I tell ya! When he mounts a horse, he really MOUNTS a horse!" )-|

#5: Now it`s just getting stupid...

Epic fail @patchouli. I tried to like it, I really did. But 10 minutes in and I`ve yet to crack a smile? Bzzzt! Fail!
