ahahahahaha drating idiots. of course its not free. you stupid idiots thought republicans were joking when they said it wont be free and its unconstitutional to force people to pay for something.

i dont even care to see who originally wrote this: Obama`s plan merely attempted to cut out as much corporate f*ckery as they could manage

thats a joke and not a funny one. obama thought interjecting the government into healhcare would cut the waste? obama is a drating idiot then. the government is 16 trillion in debt. how could those idiots cut waste?

i was waiting for this day. the day these fricking idiots saying "obama president nah"! realized health wont be free and they will be penalized if they dont pay.

Free? Subsidized? That means us tax payers are paying for your healthcare. Forced charity is not charity. And you`d have to be insane to think Obamacare is not going to cost double or more what they originally rammed down our throats. The costs and penalties will NEVER go down, just up. Honestly, if you want to see where lefty policies like this are going to take us just go read up on Detroit.

Since when has any government anywhere ever reduced f*ckery without making it worse?

As for my flamebaiting, yes it strikes a nerve when I see so many people complacent in the damage that is being done. I`m sorry if bringing the debate out into open makes you sick, but be of good cheer, you have Obamacare to cure all of your ills!

I know those people did not vote for health care that needs to be purchased, nor the penalties for not purchasing it. It`s not even implemented like a tax as in Canada or the UK. The people that are going to be hit hardest by this are the low income individuals as well those people who are finding out that their employers are restricting their hours to avoid the cost of Obamacare. Not only will their hours be cut, but they also have to either have healthcare or face a fine.

"MrPeabody, you would argue wrongly. Few people, if anyone, thought Obama would provide free healthcare."

Actually the people who have no real knowledge of the issues do think that way. They are just like the Obamaphone lady. They believe that Obama has all kinds of free money for them. I see them and talk to them quite often. Maybe they don`t live where you are but they are out there and they voted for Obama based on what they think he is going to give them.

In Detroit and the suburbs there were near riots when somewhere between 15 to 30,000 people showed up for what they thought was $3000 in free money that Obama was handing out.

Here is one the news reports of the incident:
Thousands Mob Detroit Center, Hope for Free Cash(they say 15K people, but that was one day at one location)

@DromEd: "make it more like anything else we as people consume on a regular basis"

That might sound like a reasonable suggestion but it`s not really possible, healthcare can`t conform to a true free market system. When you suddenly find yourself in need of emergency care you don`t have the luxury of choosing the cheapest ambulance company, you can`t compare competing emergency rooms to get the best value, you can`t decide which tests and procedures are the most cost-effective. There is no real competition in healthcare so there`s no market incentive to curb prices! How else could healthcare costs have been able to rise more than twice as fast as everything else for so many years now?

Add in all the extra expense and complications from a third-party corporate intermediary basing all their decisions on profit not health and it`s no wonder that we are in need of a serious overhaul. Obamacare was just the first baby steps in (sorta) the right direction...

Ok tiedyed, let us factor them in.

Too much insurance is a big part of the problem too. Because the cost of health care has been taken away for the consumer in so much that we don`t really know what things do cost. You buy milk it comes right out of pocket. Same with bread. A xxxx test for xxxx ailment? Who the F knows? But who the F cares because insurance pays for it. (that is the real problem) The solution to the cost of medical care is to make it more like anything else we as people consume on a regular basis. That way we`re more knowledgeable about our medical purchases. I don`t have all the answers as to how this will be accomplished but I can say this. People need to budget a certain % of income for regular/preventive medical treatment. You need a regular general health check up so often along with basic dental checks and eye screenings. These need to come out of your own pocket, not insurance. Insurance is for catastrophic events, not every day normal expen

It`s amazing that people still want to cry about govenrnment bureaucracy conveniently forget about the current system of INSURANCE (a private, for-profit industry) bureaucracy results in insanely expensive premiums and little oversight. They answer to their shareholders. So, if there`s to be continued argument, let us factor that in.

Crakrjak, show us where he promised it would be free. You can`t because he never did. Looks like you`re the idiot.

"Only idiots ever claimed it was supposed to be free."

So Obama`s campaign team and the liberal media moguls are idiots. Thanks for that clarification.

Btw, this is something we Republicans tried to warn you fools about. This is what happens when a liar like Nancy Pelosi says, "We have to pass it, to know what`s in it".

It`s amazing that people who think we can`t afford to pay for doctors, hospitals and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication AND a government bureaucracy to administer it.

Mr. Peabody: "There are a lot of people who voted for Obama based on the promise of free healthcare."

Fox "News" also claimed that Romney was going to win. You still believe them?

No one said it was going to be free. Not even Obama. This post is the clearest, loudest, and glaringly brightest example of drooling, mouth-breathing dumb-phukery I have ever seen. Go back to watching Fox "News".

You actually believe that crap, don`t you, onoffonoffon. I mean, the data is out there and so easy to get, yet you`ll believe anything those multi-millionaires Bill O`Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck shovel into your head, won`t you? What a shame.

Im a fair bit fuzzy on the US stuff
I`ll leave that to the far more knowing US guys here
Im guessing it could go higher after I heard

MrPeabody, you would argue wrongly. Few people, if anyone, thought Obama would provide free healthcare. The Republicans never would have allowed a socialized healthcare system--"Obama`s plan" merely attempted to cut out as much corporate f*ckery as they could manage, given the partisan reality.

You, sir, are flamebaiting. You`ve been doing it in a lot of posts recently, and I`m sick of seeing it.

"Which I would argue is the majority of Obama`s voting base."

What do you call a person who makes a dubious claim without supporting it with any factual data?
No healthcare is free- our wonderful NHS is not free- it is free at point of service, we pay through National Insurance, which is levied according to income.
But that`s how it was sold to the American people. There are a lot of people who voted for Obama based on the promise of free healthcare. Those people have a rude awakening coming when they realize they have to pay for it or be penalized.

Still a LOT better than the alternative.

I never did understand why you Americans allowed insurance companies to dictate if you live or die.

What they didn`t mention here, of course, is that the ~$65/month is going to be granted to the tax payer by the government in the form of a healthcare rebate. It`s not like you`re being told you have to go out and get buy it, you`re being given the money to do so. If you take the money and choose *not* to use it to buy or subsidize your insurance? *That`s* when you`ll risk a penalty.
