    Actually, this pilot risked his life to put the plane on the ground before ejecting rather than letting it crash into an apartment building or a shopping center. He knowingly reduced his own chances of survival to protect the lives of others.

    Considering how hard the rocket hits you, he was probably trying to get it down without ejecting! He does look to be on a runway, and has close to full flap out.

    I have known a few who have banged out of Harriers (including the first, and as far as I know only, woman to eject from a British aircraft). All survived!
