Golf clubs and pool cues, too. Cues and clubs, I can see, but pocket knives? Is this a set up?

I can`t have a family-size bottle of shampoo but I can have a pocket knife.

"The point is still valid. The recent gun control debates are a direct emotional reaction to the recent shooting at sandy hook and the theater."

Ah ha! Yes. I see what both of you did there. 100% agree. Overreaction on both sides. 9/11 the Republicans scared the nation into two unnecessary wars. Sandy Hook the Democrats are scaring the nation into unnecessary gun bans

The only way we can be possitive no one carries on a banned item is to fly naked.

In that case, I demand the Department of Homeland Security give me back my $100, my butterfly knife, my large safety pin (for holding my keys), and two box cutters. I wasn`t even getting on the plane, you douchebags!!

@ Markust123. A Do Not Sell list for guns would be great. The problem is that the people who shouldn`t be owning guns... don`t follow the rules. We have thousands of gun laws already on the books that aren`t being enforced. Why keep adding more (that won`t be enforced) that only make it harder for people who DO follow the rules to have access to the means to defend themselves? I think that`s one of the basic arguments against gun control that gun control fanatics don`t grasp.

"Now tell me again how reasonable this gun control push has been."

Whole different ballpark. But while you mention it I would love to see a `Do not Sell` list for gun registration like the `Do not Fly` list. That would have saved the students at Virginia Tech. I think a `Do not Sell` list is the root of the fear of the gun owner because a lot of them know they wouldn`t make the cut. But as I have pointed out before it is a stupid fear - HIPAA protects people from just a list.
Yeah and they could do real damaged with a broken wine bottle. Kind of my point. We need to step back the over reaction from 9/11 and the shoe bomber.
Crazy people can do a lot of damage in a confined space with the most ordinary objects you can think of.

As for the hijacking part if the pilots are locked in the cabin and people would just help eachother to subdue the assailant in order not to die all would be well.

Screw that. Allow us to carry on wine bottles and to leave our shoes on during security.

"No one will hijack the plane using a swiss army knife."

That is how to be funny.

"...then again they give you a knife on the plane to eat..so i don`t see what`s the big deal"

For my honeymoon we flew first class to Europe (frequent flyer mileage). On the way over we had silverware. On the way back one week to the day after 9/11 we had plastic knives.

I have no problem with this. I don`t really think small pocket knifes are a real threat. Do you really think someone is going to take over a plane with one of these?

Surly each flight will have at least one guy on the plane that is not so much of a coward to let the plane get taken over with that.

I`m glad they`re still not letting snow-globes on though. I just don`t feel safe around those things.
