This is the exact same path I walked down when I became an Atheist. It`s a very freeing thing to be out of that bird box and be able to see clearly.

Ouija boards are owned by Parker Bros., the boardgame manufacturers. It was just a parlour game for people getting roostertailed and not a meathod of speaking with the dead. {You knew it was your husband who kept pushing it to spell sex!} But churches denounced it just like they did Harry Potter books. So spiritualists took it up and it`s gotten a mythos all it`s own.

So, just a factoid for you.

I will agree with some of this. But not the ouija board. I`ve personally seen and heard stories of the marker on the ouija board moving without being touched. Those are some freaky things, in a really bad way.

Parker didn`t buy the rights to the Ouija board until the mid 60`s, but it was patented more than 70 years earlier. Of course it`s marketed as a "parlour game," you can`t really come out and claim it will "talk to the dead" can you? Yeah, it`s called a toy but it`s based on ancient beliefs going back thousands of years... so who knows?

I personally have a hard time buying into the whole concept, but I should add that all my life my own mother swore that she and her mom had seen the Ouija board spell out answers on it`s own on several occasions, with no one touching it. Regrettably, I never witnessed it myself though.
