i am amazed they let someone like this talk on an issue most new channels avoid such stuff. and those who do like a bill o`reilly type of show REFUSE to let the other person get their pint out and yell over them. good job by the program, great job by the ex cop

This man is wise, and he speaks truth. How could he have gotten on television?

@bliznik you currently don`t have a war on murder, theft or rape. And he never said to stop education or enforcement of current or future laws such as age limits or locations.

The 2 minute mark is hilarious. The guy gives the synopsis of what he believe and why, and she comes back with "So, where do you begin, because some people out of the gate are going..." What, do you want him to say it again?

@lt633c If someone is doing something outside of work that is legal, why would it be legal to fire them for that? Can an employer fire you for drinking and smoking cigarettes outside of work? If prohibition ended, I`m pretty sure it would be illegal to discriminate against users as long as they were not under the influence while on the job.

@Draculya The bible quote was actually a VERY good argument. God`s decree that we should not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge did not succeed because we have free will to do to ourselves what we wish to no matter what others tell us to do. Don`t hate just because the man used a bible verse to prove something you think is against God`s teachings... Also, don`t judge your fellow man. I live by those last words. If someone is doing something I don`t like and it doesn`t do anything to me. So what.

@paperduck like Christ said, if they were going to try it, they would try it now. It`s still as available, if not more, available as it would be after ending prohibition of drugs. If they were going to try it, it wouldn`t be because it`s "legal".

He makes good points but what happens when a high schooler "tries" meth or crack or pcp (like they do cigarette or alcohol today). Basically their life can be altered drastically whereas the other two aren`t that devastating, they get a buzz or throw up not get heart attacks, think they can stop a bus, or become addicts that are willing to do anything for another hit. It just seems like a huge chance for someone to really screw their lives up without a big red light (of illegality). For me at least trying a cigarette was like "it can`t be that bad" but I would be too scared to be around hard drugs because of how hard you can go down for it. If it were legal, maybe I`d think they weren`t so bad either.

Except for the bible quote, he makes a good argument.

I agree with just about everything he had to say. People that are going to use drugs will do it whether it`s legal or not; they are now. Just have to remind them of the second part of the equation. Suffer the consequences of your actions. If you fail your employer`s drug test, oh well, see ya. You drive under the influence and get caught, you`re done. You commit crimes to support your drug use, you get locked up. It`s very simple.

Um- cocaine- yes, I know a lot of people who have used cocaine recreationally for years. In fact- the only drug I don`t know used recreationally is Meth- but that is very unusual over here. Heroin is not common, usually a drug of addiction- but can be used to mellow out after a big weekend. other than that- I have known more drug users than drug abusers- and that includes myself.
Can you say the same about cocaine and heroin? Can you say that a vast majority (94%) of heroin users are just casual users who can leave it at any time?
Yes, actually those substances have demonstrated to NOT be addictive or destructive as tobacco.

Protecting you from yourself is not a function of law enforcment? So I gather from this, he does not support law officers stopping a suicide in progress either. I also don`t think drugs are the same as alcohol as he`s saying. Only a small percentage of people are alcoholics. The rest can drink and not get addicted to the point of losing everything. Can you say the same about cocaine and heroin? Can you say that a vast majority (94%) of heroin users are just casual users who can leave it at any time?

While I agree that drugs should be legalized, I don`t like his argument that we shouldn`t have a war on drugs because it won`t ever go away.

Murder won`t ever go away. Theft won`t ever go away. Rape won`t ever go away. I still think that police officers should be involved in that.

Law enforcement should be used when people hurt other people. Good parenting and education and information should be used when people hurt themselves. With drugs, people are hurting themselves (unless they start beating other people up when they`re high...in which case, law enforcement regulates the beating, not the drugs)

You can`t actually drink in public, try walking down the sidewalk with a beer, or in a public park, or beach. Only places with licenses are acceptable to drink at, and only between certain hours.

I`m thinking since it`s "2sides" one has to be the twat, but really, she takes it a touch too far on the stupid side of things.

First guy to tell like it is, well done sir!

Those arguments are so glaringly obvious. I am not in anyway putting the guy down- but what he says is so obvious and sensible I have never seen how anyone could disagree...

The prisons would be empty. And that`s why it won`t happen.

I wish other countries would`ve gone the Portugal way and just said: "you know what? That`s dumb. Sorry USA, we`re gonna do it our way"
