Watch the blinking dot in the middle of the image and the others will disappear. Blink and they will come back again.

its cause of the veins on our eyes, theyre all over, but our brain compensates so we don`t have to see through a mass of veins. we can do this with other poo too.

The awesome thing is that i know why it happens ...but i can`t be bothered to explain.
And yes , @chrisbuck234 you are wrong.

My guess is, other than the actual mechanics of the eye, it`s because we are predators. We focus on the target we are looking at first, motion second. the 3 dots are details we don`t need. Maybe a prey animal with eyes on the side of their head would see the 3 dots no matter what.

I could be way off though.

I can actually do this with any small fixed point.
focus on it intently enough and the room starts to disappear! Its freaky lol.
takes a lot of concentration though, slightest movement of eyes and the image returns.

my eyes just cant focus on something when everything else around it is moving. this is why the eye glasses and eye surgery business has thrived so well.

I can`t get all three to disappear.
The bottom one just won`t disappear for me. The top two will sometimes disappear, but then they come right back.
