Sorry, you are never going to convince me that pot use is even ok, let alone a good thing and clearly pro-pot people have no interest in my views. So, let`s just move on, shall we?

"I hope someday New York legalizes weed, or Maine. The closest States to me."

Don`t let that stop you from using. Never stopped me. ;)

Conservatives have such disdain for hollywood actors who express political opinions yet they worship a hollywood actor. That is quite the contortionist act.

Ronald Reagan also supported an assault weapons ban (after he left office).

@inversegray: (cool name, btw....I often wonder how people choose them) I didn`t want this post to be a political debate, but I guess on I-A-B it`s inevitable. Yes, Reagan was a conservative, but he`d be laughed out of the GOP with their hard swing to the right. Reagan gave amnesty to undocumented immigrants,he bailed out SS, he increased our deficit, raised the debt ceiling a zillion times, and increased taxes.

Smagboy,
umm, No....
For the most part we have been looking for someone that emulates Reagan as much as possible. Where do you get he was liberal???
He believed in smaller government.
He believed in low taxes.
my favorite quote of Reagan`s:
"The nine most terrifying words in the english language are `I`m from the government and i`m here to help.`"
So i can think of nothing he thought or believed that would be considered liberal.

When Ronald Reagan was elected, he was considered a Republican. Nowadays, he`d be seen by his party as a bleeding heart, pansy-assed liberal. Which is a damned shame, but, such is life when we let religion and a sincere hatred of science and of education and of compromise and of coexistence inform our political perspective and entire life philosophy.

Fancysucks, the whole anti-creationist stuff is the biggest phantom menace known to man. I went to like 10 schools all over the country growing up and never encountered that business. It`s just a few isolated rouge people that you wouldn`t hear about if people weren`t digging for it.

Really, creationism isn`t killing our schools. There are other reasons that a country that spends more on schools than any other country is getting jackshiite for its money.

@Mikeoxsbigg:
We`re gearing up to do it here in Maine.
It looks like it`s going to be up for referendum very soon.

So? Yea, things change. Now do the same thing between 1900 and 1930 and you`ll see similar change. Whoopee!

It`s an interesting bit of juxtaposition comparing cultural snapshots. It does not appear to make a value judgment as to whether or not the changes are positive or negative, merely that they have happened. It does not even argue causality between the presidents and the statistics of their time. It merely uses "who is president" as a sort of time marker.

Now I realize that posts on IAB that do not call anyone Hitler or insult people based on geography, weight, race, religion, etc. are rare and confusing. But let`s just say it is what it is. Some people might find it interesting. I did.

With more knowledge we become more tolerant because we understand. So lets make sure creationism isn`t taught at schools damn it!
