A little on the large side now, but just like with cell phones they will get smaller and better.

@ajd121: maybe not. The only way to make it smaller is to increase the efficiency of the blades and the motor without increasing their mass, just like a helicopter.

Considering the helicopter`s overall design has not changed for at least 20 years I don`t think this one`s will.

It may be able to fly a mile high and at 62 miles per hour, but only for 1/2 hour. Not very efficient. Its basically a concept design. They can`t add a bigger tank to it because then it would be too heavy.

Fuel Capacity 5 US gallons (18.9 litres)
    Fuel burn 10 US gallons (38 litres)/hr

That thing`s enormous. To me that`s starting to leave jetpack territory and entering helicopter where you`re strapped to the outside territory.

Not a jet, not yet commercialised and I believe it`s an old video. At least I`ve seen one much like it before.
