CreamK: I speak from personal experience!
You are correct, knowledge is not futile: However the ability to memorise the contents of a library is a gift that few possess, and contributes to mental clutter. I have a part photographic memory and spent my formative years proving people wrong, endowing them with `true facts). That, I learned does not impress anyone but the dull. The bright people are the ones that have worked out how to use the index, rather than carry their entire life`s library everywhere they go. By all means memorise trivia, it helps make people laugh at parties. Out of your sight, they laugh at you, because your head is full of junk `knowledge`.
Useful knowledge satisfies your curiosity and is best only passed on when requested.

Nickel: do you have something about debunking myths? One does not need to repeat this stuff and try to collect points. But knowledge is never futile, it`s much better that people knows these things than not. So watch this video and do not try to make you look clever, that`s just lame.

"Play it, Sam"

And i thought it was chester drawers but then again, i`ve only heard that phrase, never seen it written before. Same was with "god speed",what a weird phrase that is (i instantly think of amfetamins when i hear that...weird..) until i heard the full phrase about the return.

Good site for 10 year-olds growing up to be the school smart-arse and aiming for social exclusion. Don`t learn this stuff, you will be looked upon as a genius by the easily led, a punch-bag by stupid bullies and a dick by them that already know this stuff, but are bright enough to keep their trap shut and smile knowingly.

#1 is correct, historical Vikings didn`t have horns on their helmets. So far so good...

...yup! I confirm that almost every one of those things he`s gotten correct. Take it from me, I`m a cat.
(Or go and look them up if you don`t believe me...)

Also, Darth Vader never said "Luke, I am your father." The line was "No. I am your father."

I`m always more than a little suspicious of "facts" that are read off at high speed and with zero credible sources behind them. Especially those that are supposedly "myth-busting" facts, and that include the phrase "at least most historians now believe" sneakily hidden in there.
