Sorry there was an issue with the video. Thank you to whoever fixed it.

Kain, he is okay. Moments later they helped him to his feet. It was a very scary couple of minutes though. His eyes were quite haunting.

His neck isn`t broken. He turned out pretty alright, it seems. Memory loss of a large part of that day, it sounds like. Link~~~~

"I love UFC, but someone is gonna get killed in the ring at some point. No doubt."

    - I doubt it. The UFC has good ref`s, and most fighters know how to defend themselves. TUF is different b/c it gets people with widely different levels of experience.

Chances are they`ll most likely just die outside of the ring due to longterm injuries, like in boxing, or football

This is still 100% better and more safe than boxing will ever be. Boxing will end up giving you SO MUCH brain damage from thousands of punches to the head.... look at Ali, he lived the rest of his life with mashed potatoes for brains. U F will always be a better sport than boxing all around. period

FartCommandr: that`s just asinine. an injury is an injury. just because it isn`t a head injury doesn`t make it any less life changing. boxing is the safer sport since it`s more strict on its rules. also Muhammad Ali is still alive. he`s only got Parkinson`s. would take that to ANY of the other possible injuries from UFC fighting...

It`s hard to tell what was worse, the foot to the head or the head to the mat. Either way, that kick was sublime.

collegebound, "...only got parkinsons...", I would take almost any other injury over permanent brain damage resulting in parkinsons .

Bas Rutten`s got some sort of muscular distrophy in his arm and neck from a lifetime of being a badass

If you`re a fighter/footballer, chances are that you`re eventually going to see some sort of life-altering damage being done in the long-term

collegebound - I couldn`t disagree with your statement any more.
Boxers take constant abuse to the head. Science shows it`s better to be knocked out than to take 9 rounds of constant pounding to the head. The standing 8 count is the worst possible idea. To let the guy have just enough time to get his bearings then back to getting pummeled. In mma when someone gets woozy, they get knocked out, then the match is over. It`s not pretty, but science shows it`s less damaging to the brain.

I will assume the "hes only got parkinson`s" comment was a mistake.

i tackled a kid a little too hard once in a football game against friends. i knocked him out cold, spent a few minutes yelling in his face to wake up. i knew better than to think he was dead, but he wasnt moving or anything so for a few seconds i was pretty worried. when he woke he asked what happened and why i was hugging him.

"but science shows it`s less damaging to the brain."

lets tell that to the guy who just got kicked in the face. face = head injury/brain injury = neck injury.

and it is just Parkinson`s. please if you are going to argue with me at least get some hard facts.
