@FP: Along with Vatican City? Oooo-kay!

And how about all those Muslim nations who defy the UN and REFUSE to admit that Israel is a legitimate nation? You`re happy giving a "free pass" to them? Of course you are!

Non-Member State =/= Nation
Israel = Nation
Jordan = Nation

Simple! NEXT!

You fail at reading comprehension. The Palestinians won "non-member state" status from the UN. So yes, they do technically recognize it as a state.

@FP: So you acknowledge I am correct? Thanks @FoolsPrussia! How nice of you to admit it.

The legal case FOR Israel Sorry, I didn`t watch the 45 minute video, but here it is in case y`all wish to.
tr:dr? Israel has just as much right to exist as Jordan does...
Also: Jordan "illegally occupied" the West Bank from 1948 - 1967. How quickly we forget history... or simple "revise" it...

@piperfawn: Does the UN recognize "Palestine" as a "state"? No? Why should Israel?

Male 37,697
@piperfawn: I repeat again: In 1948 the UN divided that whole area into: Syria, Jordan, Lebanon & Israel. This was after UK and France had already divided it between themselves after WW1, of course.

No mention of "Palestine" as a seperate nation.

The whole area USED TO be refered to as "Palestine" it`s true, so why single out ONLY Israel as the "true Palestine" when the other 3 nations were also part of it?
Jordan was formerly called "Palestinian Trans-Jordan" meaning "the part of Palestine across the Jordan River".

Palestinians make up the MAJORITY of Jordan`s population...

Gaza and the West Bank were "disputed territories" and NOT considered "occupied" until AFTER the 1948 invasion by 5+ Arab countries. It would be more accurate to call them "liberated" since the Arabs invaded, and the IDF freed them...

and lol 5Cats is not good that you pretend that all the world recognize Israel (also when he occupy foreign territories) and at the same time you don`t recognize Palestine as a state. Israel and Palestine were born togheter by international mandatory with well recognized borders. How come that you pretend Isreal is recognized and Palestine no? Double standard again?

5Cats no nerves touched here, i just stated that when we discuss with datas and facts and you feel unconfortable you usualy like to divert the discussion using the anti semitic card. Is an old refrain between me and you and i allready asked you to don`t call me anti semitic and i have also tryed to explain you that the equation

Israel= All semites in the world

is really wrong and don`t represent at all the reality.
My consideration for your capability to reason is pretty hig, don`t waste it using demagogic shortcuts as accusation of antisemitism pls.

@pf & @FP: Boy! That touched a nerve, didn`t it!

@piperfawn: Israel has done nothing to Jordan (Palestine) idk what you`re going on about.

@FoolsPrussia: Jews make the best anti-semites. That`s an old Jewish saying... (and the OP fits that description, btw)

Reply
Male 3,445
Again with the anti-semitism defense? Are the Jewish soldiers who are in this video anti-semitic? Are the six former heads of Shin Bet who oppose current Israeli policy anti-semitic? Was Yitzhak Rabin anti-semitic for carving out a peace process that got him killed?

Opposing the government of the USA doesn`t make someone anti-American, just as opposing the Nazis in Germany wouldn`t have made someone anti-German.

5Cats here we go,when out of arguments the only thing to do is to play the anti semitism card, right?
Oh and Israel is destroyng Palestine with facts, not with words.

Male 37,697
@piperfawn & @FoolsPrussia: Just admit it! You support groups which deny Israel`s RIGHT TO EXIST!

Hamas, Hezbullah, PLO & others? That`s their one goal: destroy Israel. When they say "restore Palestine" they mean all the land which makes up Israel! Nothing less will do.

The fact that dozens of Muslim nations also wish for Israel`s destruction in NO WAY justifies them.

I`m sorry, but naked anti-semitism is not something I`ll "let slide" ok?

You didn`t specify at all what kind of decrees,now with sholders at wall you came out and says there are different kinds of decrees. Can you please have a direction and don`t use different standards at the occasion pls? Just for the sake of discussion.

"Free Palestine which would be Hamas a group that want to enforce sharia law and wipe all jews from the planet men, women and children.

Hypocritical
double

None of us are advocating for violent resistance. What we want is for Israel to stop oppressing Palestinian citizens and stop allowing the settlements to grow. That would benefit Israel too, because they would undermine groups like Hamas.

Again, I think you should watch "The Gatekeepers."

@piperfawn: There are various levels of "UN Decrees" from informal "reccomendations" to formal things like Declairations of War.

These complaints against Israel are the former: a small number of member states endorsing them. Or a select "councils" passing them.

The creation of Israel, Jorda, Lebanon and Syria are the latter: voted on by the General Assembly AND passed by the Security Council.

Please Educate Yourself

@Nickel2: No, in fact they do NOT "worship the same God" at all. Idiot. Jehova, Christ, Allah. DIFFERENT!

Just because something has always happened, and because other people do it now does not make it right. The situation in Israel is disgusting- and, like Ireland, is such a mess it will take generations to heal- IF it is given a chance. Israel needs to stop thinking they have a right to other peoples things, to behave, be decent and kind human beings....
0
Reply
Male 5,874
It is simply dreadful the way these people behave.
You invade their land, destroy their way of life, build houses to start a new life of your own on their land, and what do they do?
I do not support any religious doctrine or creed. Having served in the army of an invasive force does not entitle you any part of the indigenous people`s property.
The longer this situation goes on, the more of an understanding decent people gain of the greed that is the dominating culture of certain religious groups.

In 2006 the acquittal rate for Palestinian defendants in military courts was 0.29 %.
As a result of harsh sentences, more than 650,000 Palestinians have served time in prison since 1967 when the Occupation began. This figure represents about 40 percent of today’s male population. A large percentage of Palestinian prisoners have been tortured, according to several human rights organizations.

During much of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, Palestinians lived under Israeli military law and faced military tribunals, having no recourse to a civilian court system.
In Israeli military courts:
There is no presumption of innocence, and the military courts do not adhere to international standards of due process.
Palestinian defendants are not informed of the charges against them until their first court hearing and their attorneys are not given time to study the indictment.
Court decisions can be based on “secret evidence” not provided to the defendant or his attorney.
Palestinian children can be prosecuted as adults at age 12, whereas children of Jewish settlers cannot be prosecuted as adults until age 18.
Palestinians are heavily pressured to plea bargain and can face more severe penalties if they do not. As a result more than 95% of convictions are the result of plea bargains.

Even acts of nonviolent civil disobedience earn Palestinians long prison terms, compared with similar actions by Israeli activists opposed to the Occupation. In one recent case a Palestinian who led nonviolent protests against the Separation Wall in the village of Bilin received a 1.5 year prison sentence, compared with an Israeli Jewish activist with Anarchists Against the Wall who received a 3-month prison sentence. Palestinians in the Occupied Territories can be punished for what they read and what they write.

the Israeli military often demolishes the house where a Palestinian accused of violence against Israelis resides, depriving an entire family of shelter. At the same time the Israeli military routinely “looks the other way” when Jewish settlers carry out acts of violence, harassment, and property damage against Palestinians and Palestinian-owned property. The Israeli organization, Yesh Din, found that from 2005 to 2009 Israeli police failed to indict a single settler for the destruction of Palestinian olive trees in nearly 70 separate incidents.

Crimes of violence committed by Israeli Jews against Palestinians are rarely punished. The Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem examined 119 cases in which Israeli civilians killed Palestinians. The organization found that in only 13 cases were Israelis sentenced to prison. Only six were convicted of murder, and of those, only one received life imprisonment. The seven others were convicted of manslaughter, but most drew light sentences. Israeli soldiers convicted of killing Palestinian civilians are even more likely to receive either mild punishment or no prison time at all. In one notorious case an Israeli soldier convicted by a military court of killing a 95-year-old Palestinian woman received a 65-day prison sentence.

@piperfawn: Wait, wait!
You say the UN has NO RIGHT to establish the State of Isreal (and Jordan, and Lebanon, and Syria BTW) BUT that they have the right to punish Israel at the behest of their own BIGOTED membership?

Wait, what! So Israel has no right to exist, but "Palestine" does. ic...

Pembina North Dakota was once part of Canada! The border wasn`t surveyed properly, and some Canadians built a town there. When it was discovered that it was, in fact, inside the USA? Opps!

Now if I moved to Pembina, and DEMANDED it become part of Canada again? And started killing people? And fired rockets into Minot or Grand Forks? And the UN said "That`s OK! 5Cats has rights too!" THAT is the situation in the middle east.

So IDF soldiers and police enforce the laws on BOTH Jews ADN non-Jews, while Hamas allows it`s people to kill Jews without opposition.

And that makes Israel the "bad guy"?

A settler who murders an Arab goes to jail.
A Palestinian who murders a Jew gets a fat cash reward!

See? One`s every bit as bad as the other... bullocks.
