For $200? I"d quit Facebook for a large sausage and jalapeno pizza.

Did the math wrong but I think I added twenty bucks a week for lunch money. I know I never spent my lunch money on food. Not maliciously ostracizing her but more like not being included in some things because they`ll forget she can`t see it. And them get mad cause she didn`t show.
I mean it might ostracize her at school. Is being ostracized worth five weeks of allowance?
$40 a week is normal pocket money these days? Really?

It`s not like she`s agreed to live in a cave forever and never speak again. It`s a few months without using one website. Anyone who ostracises her for that isn`t worth knowing anyway.

How much do kids get where you are?? I got £5 a month, my little sister gets £10 now because things cost more now, no way could I earn 200 in 5 weeks!

"Throw out her computer" and her phone, and her ipad, oh and don`t forget kids at schools have access to ipads and computers, not to mention her friends could let her use theirs. Sounds like a bet to me to encourage her to not do it during the school year. I wonder if peer pressure is stronger than greed.

In looking at the dates on the contract, it`s likely the Dad is trying to get to stay off FB until the end of school.

He could`ve y`know, just taken away her access to facebook like a real parent would instead of resorting to bribery.

I`d stop using Facebook for a once-weekly bag of Little Cesear`s breadsticks. With butter-garlic and/or jalepeno sauce, of course. It`d take a lot more to make me quit online games, though.

what do you think the girl posted to facebook that her dad was willing to pay 200 bucks to try to never get her on there again??

It`s win/win. 1. She wins because now she can create a new account without parents as friends; 2. She wins because she can extort more money to renew or extend that agreement upon expiration.

He wins because he can live in his blissful ignorance.

...What level of parenting failure would it be if she used the money to buy stripper material, launching her career as a porn star?

That`s A account, he never specified that she couldn`t create a new one. I call BS, or the father is stupid.

Parenting FAIL!
If, as a parent you feel the kid should not be doing something, like FaceBook, you bloody well tell them to stop. You don`t pay them to do as they`re told!

Idiots abound.
