Ann Coulter Calls Libertarian Students `Pussies`

Submitted by: Pooptart19 4 years ago in

Ann says she"s okay with gays getting married so long as they marry someone of the opposite sex. Ultimately gets booed.

If I ever do a drag act I want to impersonate Ann Coulter. We look quite a bit alike actually. When she tucks, that is.

The "party-line" is now whoever makes the most noise, and coulter must have racked a long one because she`s sitting in front of a group of libertarians, and trying to fall back on it as if some kind of insurmountable orthodoxy. Shame on her - she should have known better.

And regarding the dressing-down - I wanted to illustrate what I think wraps into this nicely. A lot of blacks choose the dems because they think that party has a long history of advocating for them (a contention which I think has been well addressed here in the I-A-B forums). Then, lots of minorities due to their sexual orientation flock to the `party of the people` because they feel their ostracism from society will finally be assuaged with an open ear. But what illustrates the fact that neither ideology (in this case, democratic) actually addresses the issues of its constituents is when they begin to butt-heads, like we saw with the Prop-8 vote in California (a disproportionate number of black democrats voted FOR it, despite the trappings of what the rest of the democratic party stands for). Both have become special-interest leviathans, and this phenomenon trickles-down to the constituency.

"What I have found is if you cut through all the BS each side is given and actually get to the real issues a lot of gray appears. Opinion media takes the gray away and keeps people solid in black and white."

Couldn`t agree more. Black and white is where all of the distraction-issues are most easily highlighted - because they are inappropriate (in my opinion) for a national stage. Therefore, they remain perennially `unresolved.` This way, the candidates have non-sequitur talking-points that they can always fall back onto. It is in this process that I feel the media is complicit.

"It is a fantasy world that has no basis in reality."

Precisely the false-dichotomy that I was referring to. This isn`t a battle for patriotic values that 2 sides valiantly engage in - it`s a dog and pony show which is ultimately in the best interest of each half of the symbiotic relationship to perpetuate.

Coulter is a moron - that`s the problem I have with her. She was interviewed by a Canadian reporter once, and was talking complete BS as if it were fact. She was ticked at Canada for not invading Iran along with the US, because, she insisted, "Canada sent troops to Vietnam." It`s one thing to be ignorant, but to be unable to imagine being wrong is just stupid.

More or less, we found stuff, but it wasn`t conclusive proof that Saddam was pursuing a program that the Bush admin wanted us to believe. But then there was whole notion of how "dangerous" he was. Truth is he was first and foremost a politician, who loves himself. The authority he wielded too important throw away on some delusional vengeance plot against another government that is exponentially more powerful than his.

I realize I gave you a dressing-down the other day, and you probably didn`t read it, but I wanted you to know for once we`re actually in relative agreement. I was sickened by the way this person I once respected for at least her outspokenness used each opportunity given her by the questioners to fall back on this self-defeating reinforcement of the status-quo. I mean it was literally like all the things she might agree with them on were currently impossible, so let`s just throw our hands up in the air! For someone so outspoken (and I`m not talking about the censored language, whether it was faggot or pussy this time) to put on an air of steadfast resistance to everything the liberal establishment stands for, and then reinforce this false-dichotomy by basically doing the thing she was (falsely) accusing her student audience of - submitting - made her a non-entity to me for once and all. I`ve had it too.

Ha ha. I try so hard not to jump in on these things. I`m aware I drive some people crazy. IAB is the only place I allow myself to get into these stupid debates. I have a zero politics rule on Facebook. I also have a zero politics rule with my parents. I would talk politics with them if they would turn off the Cable News. Slowly I am learning to recognize when someone is baiting me here. That is helping. My biggest problem is a few of the Trolls have learned my hot buttons left over from when I was into all this. I guess recognizing that they recognize this will help me recognize what they are doing.

Of course it`s an act. She is playing a character. The frightening part is her and Glenn Beck say these outrageous lies over and over and over until they are comfortable to their followers ears and at that point the lies become fact. I was consumed in this world on the Liberal side for a few years. It is a horrible negative place. I gave it up Nov 6th 2010 and have not looked back. I was sick of being lied to. I don`t know how people still stick with this garbage. Opinion Media is the worst most divisive thing to happen to America since the Civil War.

Did Ronald Regan tell you that?

Pot is not addictive in any way. Only Republican brainwashing would have you believe otherwise.

I smoked pot. Lots of it. Then I settled down and had a kid. I didn`t have time to be stoned, so I quit. One day I was a pot smoker, the next day I was not. Simple as that. No dependencies. No rushing to try stronger drugs. No change in my brain (IQ is still a healthy 160).

You guys really need to look past the propaganda and, as I mentioned in my other post, mind your own f$cking business.

And it works. More power to her, I guess.

I suspect much the same of people like Rush, O`Reilly and Beck. What they do sells. As many people tune to rage at them as those that agree, and it makes no difference from a sponsor`s standpoint.

More proof that Republicans just don`t get it. I think it`s the clinging to religion and brainwashing that does it to them. Their brains are too bent to really understand how the world around them works so they cling to their stories as though they were true. "Pot is bad", "Gay marriage is bad"...Blah blah blah. Two things are important here. Firstly, none of these things are bad in any way. It`s just what your brainwashing has convinced you of. Secondly, it none of your f*(king business what others do so stay out of it and stop putting your nose into other people`s business. Don`t make up B.S. about "welfare state" etc. to try and cover your lack of understanding. I know doctors and lawyers who smoke pot. No welfare involved at all. MOST pot smokers are normal people with normal lives. The welfare bums are a VERY small percentage.

In suggesting this, you ignore the fact that, the first time a person uses drugs, their mind has not already been altered. As such, even in the latest stages of drug use, in which a person`s brain may be vastly compromised, the initiating decision to use was of sound mind and body.

Illegal and immoral are two different things. Yes I have to go to a criminal to get it, and that`s also what makes the myth of "gateway drugs" possible. If my dealer offered other drugs, then I`m sure I would be offered other ones. As it stands I have tried others like ecstasy, mushrooms, but I don`t really like those as much, plus I rarely have the 8 hrs required for `shrooms. For someone who doesn`t like it when people don`t take personal responsibility for their actions, you seem awfully determined to blame drugs 100%.

Nope. I didn`t need marijuana to break the law, I would stream movies or download songs without drugs in the equation.

Parts of it may be, but overall it isn`t. Heck they had homosexuality as a disorder in there until only a few decades ago. But more to the point, I don`t think the DSM-IV talks about "screwing up their morals" or them becoming "dependent on the government". But I don`t think anyone is taking seriously the opinion of someone who has never tried drugs. Or science, for that matter.

5Cats I`ve stopped calling myself a liberal in 2010, that was because Obama broke the most important promises he made.
Namely:
-Televised debates over the crafting of Obamacare.
-Ending the destructive Bush foreign policy.
-Closing down Gitmo.
-Reining in spending (ignored Simpson-Bowles, and now fighting the very sequester he pushed for in the first place).
So by and large I`m not contesting your disdain for Obama. I don`t watch MSNBC or Fox News (except for Cavuto and Stossel), but I still retain an ideological opposition to neocons.

There were daily "war protests" under Bush, which ENDED the day Obama took office. But... both wars were still ongoing? And Obama even "surged" one of them...

Nevermind. At leat unemployment got BETTER under Obama! Oh wait, no it didn`t. From 5.5% to 10.1%... but the MSM kept talking about how BAD Bush was for the economy, and how GOOD Obama was...

Oh Well! Obama LOWERED the Deficit AND the Debt, just like he PROMISED! REPEATEDLY!
Oh, no. Hells no. He`s actually DOUBLED the debt. How`d he do that?
When BUSH "deficit spent" it was "UNpatriotic" (said Obama!) But Obama spends 2X more and it`s...

For instance, this topic of drugs. Drugs do not make you more `free`, they do the opposite, they enslave you. Drugs make people dependent on their use, alter their psychology and screw up their morals, and eventually mess up people`s lives to the point that they become dependent on the government for help.

I`m confused...
In the broken contract, who was the refrigerator? The man or the woman?

"Where`s the sniper when you need one?"

That`s a pretty typical left winger attitude, kill the people who disagree with us. If your type got in charge, we`d have killing fields, gulags, etc.

I love when guys like Cajun suck up to Holy God and me. Oh wait, we have intellectual disagreements almost as often as we have common ground. In this political climate, I say thank god there are libertarians who I can have a sane, rational discussion with.

...and on the 8th day, God looked down on his grand nation and said,
"I need a neocon"
God said "I need a person who will claim to defend individuals against state tyranny while at the same time supporting restrictions on marriage and unconstitutional bans on narcotics and other medications."
So God made a neocon
God said "I need a person who touts the superiority of capitalism while supporting Keynesian policies that drive up costs, destroys the quality of public goods, and leaves future generations on the hook for their efforts."
So God made a neocon
God said "I need someone who will support wars based on warped evidence, faulty premises, and will needlessly waste lives and tax dollars."
So God made a neocon

"This is what I would call a "preaching to the choir" post."

It`s I-A-B. I`m sure you could find someone here who would defend Hitler.

Link: Ann Coulter Calls Libertarian Students `Pussies` [Rate Link] - Ann says she`s okay with gays getting married so long as they marry someone of the opposite sex. Ultimately gets booed.
