    I could`a told ya that.
Cat`s are not domesticated at all.
They`re just too small to kill and eat you.

    That... was... GREAT!
    Thx @FancyLad!

A "black panther" is a leopard with black fur AND black spots! Cool, eh?

"Big cat head" shape is one of the "universal" shapes which produce the "startle" reaction in humans all over the planet. Bug-shape, spider-shape and snake-shape are the other 3...
(hint: it`s likely in our DNA...)

    I just love cats... >^..^<

This is f.ucking great. Add a "stalking" comparison too. When cats are trying to stay low and be sneaky and their shoulder blades pop up they remind me the most of wild animals.

Also, what we typically refer to as a panther is really a black jaguar or black leopard. Panther refers to the genus panthera which actually includes jaguars, leopards, lions and tigers.

So a lion in a panther, technically.

In slow motion you could compare an eagle to a little magpie too. I say bollocks. `Far removed`...awe yeah!

@HolyGod: I thought tigers and lions and such were in different "genus" (whatever the plural is) you`re +1 on me! lolz!
That explains how tigers and lions can inter-breed though...
idk about the others. Probably, eh?

I get what you (or someone) was trying to do here, but a rastafarian and a black panther have about as much to do with each other as valley girl and a neo nazi. Now, put the cat in a black beret and sunglasses and maybe you have something. Not something funny mind you, but something. ;)

Awww, my sister`s 3yr old cat had to be put to sleep today and she`s gutted. My grandmother had been telling her all afternoon, `I know you`re upset but it was just an animal` but I totally get it.... I`ve had about 16 cats in the last 20 years (some I took on knowing they were terminally ill and wouldn`t last that long) and I`ve blubbed like a kid when every one of them has died.

@Gerry1: Nice info-list! yeah, Clouded Leopards are extra-amazingly beautiful...

@listypoos: That`s because you`re "good people". It`s not that Grandma isn`t though: most Grandmas have been through a lot more hardship than us younger folks...

Lol Gerry....I`ll make her some earmuffs out of him, that`ll cheer her up. Every cloud has a silver lining.

It`s a good job cats don`t, otherwise their fur would be in more demand.

Thanks for the list 5cats, and thanks for the pics Gerry1of1!!! The pallus cat pic makes me think of an old bald man-cat... so cute!! But I`d try for either the sand cat or the cloud leopard myself :)

An interesting thing about large cats, a panther is not one specific animal per se, it`s actually one of three: the black versions of leopards, cougars, or jaguars, depending where you are in the world.

That`s why I refuse to have more than three in my house at the same time, they might start to team up on me.

Put both in the same room and you`ll see just how `close` they are.
