Wait this isn`t from the onion?! Last night timmy was sent to bed without dessert for not eating broccoli. I think is an actual article.

Dad probably has a friend who works at the station. Cause only dad would laugh at mom`s rules.

Why is this on the news? How did the news station hear about a rather simple occurrence in a private home between a mother and son? Did she like call the station and say "Oh my God, I am such a good mom and have made up all these great rules for my kid to have a phone. You should put me on the news. Give me attentionzzzz!" In that case I am calling next week, `cause I totally got my kids to eat broccoli last week by creating a 23 point contract with them. I should be on the news.

Yeah, Gerry, that`s kinda my theory on things so far too. It`s like setting the speed limit at 55 knowing people are going to do 65. If you set it at 65 they`ll do 75. Kids are going to break rules, but they should respect the rules and the consequences enough to only break them very very rarely. >:)

How exactly is he supposed to prevent people from sending him explicit photos?

I`d wager that since he`s been on TV with that, people are going to flood his account with images just for the novelty of watching him react.

Agreed, Tekinette.

Everyone should have a similar contract for using social media!

We had a no porn rule in my house growing up.
And like every teenage boy that means I hid the dirty magazine where mom couldn`t find it. I`m sure he`ll have his porn, but hopefully he`s smart enough not to let mom find it.

What someone needs to show her, is how to be a responsible parent without the need to draw up mock-legal contracts to control her children`s behaviour...

A contract that`s basically saying not to act like a moron or non-nice individual while using it... Should be mandatory for facebook & twitter.

That "no porn" rule really sucks. Let this teen have unrealistic sexual expectations like all the others regular teens

Gotta agree with Gerry on this one. Cool, but the fact that it`s newsworthy is pretty pathetic.

I say "Good job Mom!". If more parents kept tabs on their kids, there would be a lot less trouble.

It really is simple, if you want a phone, you follow the rules, if you don`t want the rules, wait until you are 18, get out of my house and buy your own phone.

??? Isn`t this already what you do when you get a phone? Every single thing you want to do on the phone puts you through a 20 page "user agreement license."

Good job, Mom, on this one.

A parent with the idea "I pay for it so I make the rules"
is so novel that it makes the news?
The obvious is newsworthy now.
