Link: Alabama Dept. Of Homeland`s Security Safety Video - The safety video is about how to react to a mass-shooting attack. Throw in 250-300 N-bombs and it`s a Tarantino movie.

If I was allowed a gun at work I wouldn`t HAVE to improvise now would I?

Because you are completely incompetent(as everyone who picks up a gun except for police and insane mass shooters is), you might accidentally shoot someone while trying to stop the person about to murder 20 of your co-workers. You might also get shot yourself trying to get your gun out, so you should run at the insane man with a stapler in your hand, that will be safer for everyone.

I especially liked how at 1:25, on the door, it has a sign indicating a gun-free zone. There is a little pistol with the international-no sign around it.
The shooter must not have seen it.

He had a fully automatic AK-47, so it didn`t apply to him. Otherwise he would have gone across the street where they don`t have so many gun restrictions.

I couldn`t imagine working anywhere that guns are allowed. Emotions can run too high at work. It is not a safe environment for easy access to guns.

Good thing the shooter is always an obviously threatening looking man in black.

They lose the true confusion and chaos of this sort of situation in the theatrics. The shooter will look like anyone else. If you can`t immediately see the gun, you may not be able to tell who it is. If you hear loud bangs somewhere in the building, your first thought will be that someone or something fell, not that there`s a shooting.

That`s the reason these situations are so dangerous. It`s the uncertainty. Knowing what to do in a shooter situation won`t help you if you don`t know you`re in a shooter situation until it`s too late.

Markust, if you work someplace where the only factor preventing a coworker from killing you is the lack of a loaded gun, you should quit making iPhones and leave China.

Close. I do work in the tech industry. And in the tech industry you have a larger portion than normal of adults who were picked on and traumatized to no end in high school. And a portion of those are going to be unstable. I`m actually surprised the tech industry hasn`t seen more acts of employees going postal.

I actually found this informative- past the common sense stuff. For example, I didn`t know that the first cops/responders in the building wouldn`t help. It makes complete sense thinking about it after seeing it, but I can`t be sure I would have thought about it in the situation. Basically, I learned to sit quietly hidden until they instruct.

If guns were allowed at work, then it would likely be a guy walking around with the gun he keeps in his desk, not a guy in black.

The pro-gun logic amazes me. The fact this happens enough that these instructional videos now exist should be proof that something is very wrong with your country.

Of course, none of this would apply in a gun-free zone. Everybody knows that if you`re in a gun-free zone, you`re perfectly safe.

`They` didn`t ban guns. `They` banned certain types and restricted others. none of us believed that gun crime would stop overnight. we have a growing problem with gang and drug crime in most of our cities, just like anyone else. If there is an increase in gun crime/death here then it`s still a f--king miniscule amount compared to the US. If you think that strapping on guns and reverting to the wild west is the safest way to go then You`re welcome to it. I don`t give a f--k anymore. I`ll stay here (Safely)in this horribly oppressed freedom-hating country, and walk anywhere I want knowing that I`m 15 times less likely to get shot today than you are.

Go walk on the great wall of China or something. Forget this bull$poo as your chances of having to ever encounter such a situation are NILL to NONE statistically. Your Fekkin dog is more likely to get run over by a car.

I`m starting to feel that a good portion of the anti-gun faction are that way because they wouldn`t trust themselves with a gun in the workplace. Trust me here. If I`m packin` around you, you`re as safe as kittens. Now just relax and invent something new and cool like a solar panel that really works and watch limitless cheap energy solve a s--t ton of the world`s problems.

Why the drat is everyone so worried about mass shootings now? Gun violence is at it`s lowest for 20 years, and so is violent crime in general.
You are still more likely to be killed by a lightning strike than to be killed in a mass shooting.

Is this just the media scare mongering and playing with people`s emotions for ratings?

"So "gun free zones" don`t apply to him? Funny how that works huh??"

Are you purposely trying to be an idiot? The biggest and most checked gun free zone in America is near the President. This also applied to past Presidents. The general public is not allowed to have a gun anywhere near the president due to the many assassinations and assignation attempts in the past. But his security damn well carries guns. Columbine was a gun free zone at the time of the shooting. But they still had an armed police officer on staff. A gun free zone does not mean that security also does not have guns.

Nice touch with adding the school security that was in place before Obama`s kids even thought about going there. It is a private school with lots of kidnapping targets. Part of the cost of the school is security. If you want to pay $30,000 a kid you could have this security also.

Next thing you know, they`ll be regulating our No. 2`s McGovern. I heard that was a favorite murderous implement of the Joker, which as we all know was part of one of the most dangerous violence-promoting institutions in America: Hollywood. The same people who come out of character to lambast the very roles they portray with such frequency. What a world..
