#8 not totally true - an easy google search comes up with the 1986 $2 bill with a canadian flag flying over parliament.

#10 Sporange rhymes with Orange. Sporange is a botanical term for a part of a fern. Chilver rhymes with Silver, chilver defined as an ewe-lamb.

#21 Not true. You can train your goldfish to do tricks which means they have a memory longer than 3 seconds.

This is a terribad list.

Sorry, we Canadians are crazy enough to have 3 dollar coins... I honestly had no idea they existed before today!
(hope that`s a consolation)

Oh well! We whooped y`all butts! Ha!

Also #24. The Speaker of the House is a position in every Parliament using the Westminster style of government. In fact, not only does the Speaker of the House speak, nobody in the legislature gets to speak without the Speaker`s permission. He can kick you out of the house for speaking out of turn AND formally recognizes every Member of Parliament before they speak.

You would know that if you watched Question Period.

Wow Americans who actually believed that. Very depressing that you are that foolish. The flag is the Red Ensign which was Canada`s flag under British rule.

I could see how a nation of people who put Canadian flags on their things when travelling might make that mistake though.

As a serious bank note and coin collecter I can firmly say 8 is false. The note in question is the 1986 release of the Queen Elizabeth II / Parliament Buildings $2 note. Which unlike its $5 and $10 counterparts clearly has a Canadian flag flying above the Parliament. So, up yours eh!

so many of these things are completely false... theyre is no legitimate effort made to actually look up these "facts" as blatantly pointed out by #36 where they state a "fact" then in parentheses state that they were told its not true, yet they still keep it on the list.
also several of the things on the list that do happen to be true are all commonly circulated on hundreds of lists like this so they are pretty well known.

as for #7: screeched shares that honor with the word strengths, even when they get something correct they still manage to mess it up.

#8 is wrong, The flag is Canadian. and we don`t even have a $2 bill anymore , we replaced it with a $2 coin in 1996

"Myth- An American flag is flying over the Parliament buildings on Canadian paper money. This is not the case. The Birds series bills depict a Union Flag flying over Parliament on the $100; a Canadian Red Ensign (a former Canadian flag) on the $5, $10, and $50; and the modern maple-leaf flag was on the $2 bills. (The $20 depicts the Library of Parliament, with no flag visible.) Those "taken" by the rumour were likely fooled by the bills with the Red Ensign, as the flags are very small and not shown in full colour, and the Ensign with its contrasting canton somewhat resembles the American flag "

I was going to point-out several others (# 22 - Mythbusters also, @ Crakr and chalket but Runemang beat us all to the punch)

Speaking of "Orange" though

@studioso ("purple = circle, orange = storage, porridge)
I don`t think those are considered proper rhymes. It`s tantamount to the pervasive use of the term `nigga` when one can think of nothing else to
compliment
a word ending with an `a`, but not technically
rhyming
with it. To rhyme, I believe at least the last two letters of a monosyllabic word have to produce perfect homonymic synchronicity (disregarding spelling anomalies like double-esses). In multi-syllabic words, I believe the same effect has to be produced with at least the final syllable of our rhyming word`s predecessor.

Can`t say how many are true, but I know many are NOT.

#8: The Canadian $2 bill (discontinued in 1996) had the maple leaf flag. The $5, $10, and $50 showed the parliament building flying the "Red Ensign," (Canada’s old flag prior to the 1960s) which has a small Union Jack in the upper left hand corner and the Canadian Coat of Arms in the lower right. Many people have mistaken that for the American flag, but no Canadian currency has ever been printed with our flag.

#9: The clocks in the pawn shop scene do all show 4:20 but in Jimmy`s house when they are drinking coffee the clock reads 8:15.

#19: Jim Henson and Sesame Street writer Jon Stone both said there is no connection to the movie, it is just a coincidence.

#21: Even Mythbuster`s disproved that one. Researchers believe a goldfish`s memory lasts about 3 months.

The more you know!
