This man once told me he"d be willing to face hard prison time to defend his beliefs. The feds took him up on the offer.

I signed the petition but then I realized that it is for the wrong Sandusky....10 years for marijuana seems just fine...but way too harsh for a victimless crime like child molestation.

@trippyhippy9

Close, but that should read: "The only good cop is a dead cop".

Thank gawd they are keeping the streets safe from punks like this who are pushing medicines on glaucoma and cancer sufferers! I know I`ll sleep better without this kind of filth roaming the streets helping people!

@DingDingDong There is plenty of reason to be mad at cops. Anyone who swears to uphold the laws put in place by all those worthless politicians is a bad person.

The only good cop is an ex-cop.

Whether or not marijuana should be legal aside, this guy was selling medical marijuana to folks that had no medical need- everybody in California knows at least one person who had a prescription due to a bogus `ailment`. I`ve not heard of any doctors getting arrested for writing unnecessary prescriptions gosh, wonder why that is.

This guy is probably going to be OK. After all, he has all those fellow Americans with the arms of bears (or something) to protect him against government hypocrisy and disproportionate prosecution for his `crimes`.

Yet child molesters and pedophiles get a slap on the wrist and set out on the streets to prey on innocent children over and over. Makes perfecr sense. When are people going to stop being so afraid of a plant???

Ten years? for a non violent crime? Sure, lets just add more deficit to this country by putting people like this in jail. Sure, raise my taxes to pay for his stay in the prison. Yeah, that makes tons of sense. I really think the U.S. Government needs to be scrutinized a bit more by the citizens of its country.

@trippyhippy9 Don`t hate the police over this. Hate the politicians, federal prosecutors and that Judge.

Well it will be sent to appeals court. Hopefully a really savvy lawyer will argue that the Fed has no right to regulate marijuana and the drug war will then end. (I wish)

Just another reason to hate the police. Like anybody needed another reason.

Wow, such BS. I feel so bad for that guy. Hopefully he doesn`t get too messed up in prison, or better yet, doesn`t even have to go.

The Federal law will not change anytime soon. All the cheap slave labor in the U.S. are in the prison system. Some of the more peaceful slaves are cannabis users at that.

I bet he figured there would be more of a public outrage. Now he`s looking at ten years and people are kind of `meh`. He`s got that sinking feeling.

@markust: I had a feeling this was the case. Most of those dispensaries are left alone, so long as they follow the state law to the letter.

Hey guys! Remember when Obama promised he`d stop the persecution of medical marijuana users?
Just like he promised to like, do other unimportant stuff... Like, oh I don`t know NOT go more psycho than Bush and pass a new terror infringing laws, and close down gitmo, and not go after guns, and not assassinate more people than any other American president in modern history, and not start poo in other countries like Syria?

Christ not this again. He was not following the California marijuana laws. It was California that called the DEA in. The law clearly states that medicinal sellers can not be for-profit. They have to be non-profit organizations. He clearly broke that law. He has no one to blame but himself.
