The WTF Of The Day: Feets Don`t Fail Me Now! [Pic]

This might be a little weird for some to see--it"s just a healed scar. My question it, is this real life or Photoshop?

They do that basically to re-purpose the ankle joint as the knee joint for use with a prosthetic leg. The leg is turned so the joint bends the right way.

seems like a happy kid for someone that doesn`t look like they know if they`re coming or going.

When they have to take the middle of the leg, they often do this, so that the amputee`s ankle can act as a "knee" of sorts with a prosthetic lower limb. Makes sense; looks really weird.

It is real, the poor kid had cancer or something... and the former foot acts as a knee.
