tedgp i didn`t want to belittle his art, maybe is my bad english. What i mean is that he needed few and poor materials to express his genius in an convincing way and this belong to real artists.

piper, Each episode of stingray/thunderbirds etc cost the equivilant of £1,000,000 today to make.

Thats a bit more than a few led`s and some styrofoam panels.

I am not really a fan of his production but i must admit that he was kinda genius,he just needed few leds some styrofoam panel and we all was in some adventure in the middle of the space.
