Link: Man Opened Fire In An Alabama Hospital This AM - Details are developing, but basically, it was another armed man walking the halls trying to kill innocent people.

    Sigh...
Even more suicidal assholes trying to get their name in the news.
    This makes everyone look bad.
The media for exploiting it to scare viewers and make money.
The right for wanting to keep the 2nd amendment.
And the left for using a tragedy to push through legislation that would never pass if people weren`t emotionally upset.

Lends credence to the idea that the hype and fame these shooters are given by the media helps create more shootings, three in about a week.

Bravo to the policemen from my fair city for acting so fast.

Someone other than the assailant could have died.

Ok, I thought about it a bit, and this doesn`t sound like an attempted mass shooting. It sounds more like suicide by cop in a public place.

I know one thing, I will be purchasing a gun once I go back to the states. So if you shoot at me, you better make sure I`m dead. If not, you will be. And I believe I have pretty good aim, thank you Army for my training.

lol expect some more of this until the end of the year.. guess who will want to "redeem themselves" before jeeezus christ (aaa-haaaaa) cometh on 21st of december or whenever the world supposedly ends.
Religious nutjobs.. and guess how many people are enraged when nothing happens and they notice that they spent all their money, quit their jobs, burned their homes on the off-chance that the world ends..

Then hope that they don`t have a gun.

Authorities in Alabama say a man opened fire in a hospital, wounding an officer and two employees before he was fatally shot by police.
There, you see how that works?

C`mon davy, I know there are a lot of people here who really are that f***ing stupid, but you`re not one of them. Honestly, what would you rather see, the shooter being taken out by an armed nurse, or the shooter being given 15 minutes to slaughter as many people as he can before the cops arrive?

BTW, an M16 would be totally impractical since it can`t be concealed. A .32 auto would work quite well.

But don`t take my word for it. Economist John Lott has studied the problem extensively and quantitatively for over 20 years. It`s a short interview.

ollie,m the officers were tehre cause the man with the gun was walking around in there, brandishing a gun, so i doubt it was concealed. Only on being aproached by officers did he start shooting if i read it right..

so could be suiciede by cops, happens, not a good thing but still,,

but dont compare this to a guy that randomly opens fire at bystanders, not the same thing. And having more guns in the soup merely means more peeps wil get brandished by them. doesnt sound like a good idea

i mean, how many people have taken a live in a very good reason and still come out the worse.. There is a reason that there used to be a good psyteam on the other end of every shooting. dunno where that has gone, but tehy were there for a reason.

for most people, cause they aint heartless bastards, by taking a live you also take yur sanity and yur nightrest. what about those peeps? more guns you say? more welltrained police i say.

I`m very confused. Why was this man only able to injure 3 people while the school shooter managed to kill 27?

Yeah for the 2nd amendment. Does not matter who you are or if you are mentally unstable, you can still buy a gun in the good ol` USA. How many more of these shootings are going to happen before the gun laws are changed?

I completely agree these gun laws are ridicules. If everyone had a gun then everyone could defend themselves, and this man may not of hurt anyone.

"I`m very confused. Why was this man only able to injure 3 people while the school shooter managed to kill 27?"

For one, he was in a hospital. They`d be able to treat anyone he shot right away. Also, it appears he was walking around with his weapon visible for a while before shooting. This gave them the chance to call police over. Also, he didn`t start shooting until the police were already there. Also, police are properly trained to deal with the situation and shoot him when it was necessary.

If the guy at the elementary school had walked around with his weapon visible for a while before shooting and didn`t start shooting until he saw police, I`ll bet not many people (if any) would have died.

The situations aren`t really comparable. It wasn`t a vigilante who shot this guy, it was a cop. No one thinks cops shouldn`t be allowed to have weapons. If you want to argue that all schools should have police or security guards, then go ahead and make that argument (I know my high school had armed security guards and someone still brought a gun to school, managed to be found wandering the halls by a teacher before he shot anyone though, and the teacher found it in his bag). But this isn`t proof that everyone should be armed, just that it`s a good idea to have trained police nearby (and even better if the shooter doesn`t start shooting until he sees police).
