It doesn`t matter if YOU think this particular woman is `hot.`

The problem is, the court has set a president now: A person can be refused employment/terminated on the grounds the employer feels their presence would interfere in the marriage of third parties in the business.
No direct action required on the part of the person being fired.

It`s a bad court ruling. If she didn`t commit any misconduct and she wasn`t being laid off due to lack of payroll, she shouldn`t have been removed.

@code jockey, there is a difference between "hot" and "attractive."

a 300lb woman could be attractive to someone, a 125lb DDD super model is `hot`
s the chick in the OP the one fired for being too "hot"? I would appeal stating that she is, in fact, not hot.
It wasn`t a matter of her being a Photoshop-less super model.
It was that his wife worked there too and was jealous of their friendship so, she made him fire his assistant.

I`ve seen this happen and been through similar.

Was anyone else reminded of Dr Johnson`s remark to Garrick?

"I`ll come no more behind your scenes, David; for the silk stockings and white bosoms of your actresses excite my amorous propensities"

At least he took responsibility for his own arousel.

the funniest thing about people who get fired is that its never that they were doing a bad job (or behaved badly), its for every other reason including, but not limited to, race, sexual orientation, hot or not, etc

It`s pretty clear that each indulged in some inappropriate behavior. There are consequences for that. Too bad, so sad.

"At Will" employment sucks. This situation isn`t fair and this guy (and his wife) are dix! But, it`s not illegal. She needs to pick herself up, dust off, and move on.

You could make that same statement about gay men and "real" men, Gerry. Some thick people probably do.

You always have the option of not letting yourself be walked on. Or you can ie down and say thak you for not wearing golf shoes. It`s not a man/woman thing. It`s more about how you react to being pissed on.

Lord Jim, sometimes life sucks and you just have to face up to it. No, it`s not fair... that`s life!

gerry,

So a man just lets himself be screwed over and does nothing about it and that`s good thing. A woman takes the bastard on (bitch and whine) and that`s a bad thing.

If your employment depends on how sexually attractive your boss finds you then you have the right to make an issue of it.

If it`s a right to work state, he didn`t need a reason to fire her. But since he gave one, and the one he gave is incredibly sexist, she can easily have his business through a sexual harassment lawsuit. Cheers Nelson, enjoy your millions. You earned it.

She worked for ten years and only got a months pay? This is wrong and it is discrimination. She might have drawn business in. If she works for another dentist, she might bring some of Knights patients with her, I hope.

If her skin colour had been different this wouldn`t have been allowed. Yay, reverse racism.

Yeah, see, she wasn`t fired for being hot--she`d been there for ten years. She was fired because the dentist`s wife didn`t like that her husband thought she was hot. And their Taliban pastor decided that, instead of counseling them to do the right and just thing (like, at least finding her a job with equal benefits), they could just blame her hotness for threatening their marriage. Yay religion--providing excuses for drated up treatment of fellow humans for thousands of years.

This is the Muslim/early Judeo-Christian model of morality: Woman looks too tempting, so cover up or stone the women.

What if the dentist considered his assistant so homely that the thought of her was putting a hitch in his marital relations? Would these idiot judges find it acceptable to fire her for that?

So obvious the dentist`s wife was pmsing and told him to fire her in a fit of rage.

"because she`s ugly" ... wrong.
"because she`s not ugly" ... ok.
"because he`s black" ... wrong.
"because he`s not black" ... ok.

Yeah, I guess that fits with the way our society does things.
