Just goes to show that poop is everywhere.

And the some of the facts about bacteria (like #2), shouldn`t be in a list about REVOLTING facts, those little buggers keep us alive.

Hell, bread and beer technically made up of yeast piss and farts, fruit comes from ovaries and
fecal transplants, are probably going replace anti-bacterial therapies in the near future.

Best get used to it now.

"Okay, I need a shower now."

Shower heads can contains large bacterial concentrations as well as the bath mats and soap trays.

Now its times for wine cheese and yoghourt! Happy bacteria day all.

The term `fecal bacteria` is misleading.(They`re just going for the EWW!! factor) Saying something has fecal bacteria isn`t the same as saying something has poo on it.
There`s a number of bacteria species found in fecal matter that also exist in other places.

I hate faux statistics videos like this. Any percentage that you report is completely untenable. There is no way you could do an accurate study to find out how many people wash their hands after using the restroom. That being said, I`m certain 10% is an extensive underestimate.

I travel a lot for my business and I purposely block myself from thinking about the thousands of bathrooms I`ve rolled my computer bag through and all the nasty tv remotes I`ve used.

BTW- I recently read an article about fecal transplants. Some people have a condition where they don`t have the proper bacteria in their colon. So the doctor gets donor feces, checks it for diseases, blends it in a blender to make it more liquid and injects it into the sick person`s colon to jumpstart the good bacteria growing. Usually the donor is a family member ;) Yum!

"There is no way you could do an accurate study to find out how many people wash their hands after using the restroom."

Why not? Have a bunch of college students (or bathroom attendants) stand in the corner of a bunch of bathrooms and count. No biggie. Definitely can`t take people`s word for it.

vv @lauriloo: It`s true! There was a case in Canada (iirc) where a guy was refused this treatment and suffered for years, then went to the USA, had it and presto! Well, better than he was anyhow.

It helps if it comes from family members, it`s DNA related, eh?

@klaxor: I thought you said "facial transplants" which is much grosser...

I just can`t believe that only 10% of people wash their hands after using a bathroom. Makes me question everything else stated in the video.

I think it just makes it less gross and and easier to get. What stranger would donate poop? According to wiki, it shouldn`t matter unless your entire family has the same problem.

It does seem low but I suspect most men don`t wash when they only pee so that could drive the average down.

guess what, there is fecal matter all over your toothbrush, and you use that thing (hopefully) at least once or twice a day. that fecal matter you worry about from this video really isnt as big of a deal as the fear mongers will have you believe.

Why don`t people wash their f*cking hands. GD. It`s not hard.
I can`t tell you how many times I see some bitch NOT wash their hands when I visit the restroom at work. & it`s usually the pretty ones. They do their business, go to the mirror to f*ck with their hair & leave the room to go back to their table to eat & drink & touch everything in the restaurant.

"Fecal bacteria" is somewhat misleading. Doesn`t mean it has anything to do with actual faeces necessarily.

I hate that channel. Misleading, and sometimes just incorrect.

You must put it to scale here - 10,000 per square inch is fine. I see no issue with such a small concentration.

And yes, its fine, im alive, you`re alive. Its obviously not having any impact.

Most, if not all, of the bacteria on your skin don`t make you sick. Years of evolution made us resistant to that.

Eating bacteria makes your immune system stronger, washing your hands all the time with anti bacterial soap is just making your immune system weaker, I agree to wash your hands after you take a dump / piss. But come on everything you touch is covered in germs (bacteria). It`s in the food too, when you eat dead cooked meat you are eating bacteria but it lets your body gain protein in exchange. There is good and bad bacteria our stomach holds alot of bacteria.
