When a zombie movie goes mainstream like this, its time to find a new pastime.

I`ve been waiting for this for a long time. By the looks of this I don`t think I`ll be disappointed. The only thing I don`t like is that there`s an Apple watermark in the bottom right hand corner of the video. I`m assuming it`s from who uploaded it, I hate Apple.

Looks cool to me. The book was pretty good. It doesn`t look like the film follows it though.

I`m not much of a zombie fan, but my brother is. He read the book and says from the look of the trailer, it`s nothing like the book.

The book was someone recording the accounts of The War Z after it was over and humanity was rebuilding. This is just it happening from one persons viewpoint. Pitt should`ve followed the book if you ask me much more interesting.

So it appears to not be related to the book at all? Looks pretty dumb to be honest. Not liking the whole super speed swarm thing they are trying to do. Zombies are supposed to be an unending slow horde of numbers, not a pissed of anthill swarming for something to bite.

So twilight bastardized vampires and now this is trying to bastardize zombies? please leave my classic horror genres alone.

And I just had a conversation yesterday with my roommate on whether the recent trend in zombies has jumped the shark like vampires did. After seeing this I`ll have to admit I was wrong.

I was mildly looking foreward to this...
NOW I`m AMPED! It looks fantastic!!

@CoyoteKing: There`s never been an "official" type of Zombie, like there was for Vampires (Bram Stoker).

One of the things folks complain about is that "slow zombies" wouldn`t stand much of a chance in destroying humanity. Sean of the Dead, for example.
These zombies aren`t just "fast"... they`re freaking ROADRUNNER fast! Now that`s scary!

    And it`s "Zed" NOT "zeeee".

Why buy the book rights if you aren`t going to make a movie about the book? All the parts I was excited to see brought to the big screen are being left out. I`ll see the movie, but not with the same level of excitement as i was a year ago.

A actual "zombie" is not an undead thing, that just doesn`t happen. Death doesn`t like ANYTHING becoming undead. Them`s the rules.

Now a living "zombie" that CAN happen, say take a spore or virus, and have it infect the brain, and target the gland that regulates hunger and emotion, with a secondary infection in the frontal cortex. You get a very angry, very hungry individual and he/she will NOT recognize anything related to family, or hierarchy of any fashion we`d recognize. Uninfected persons regardless of who they are become "food"

@5Cats: i refer to how zombies pretty much started with George A. Romero`s film The Night of the Living Dead from 1968. Romero was for zombies as Bram Stoker was for Dracula and vampires.

I`m still looking forward to it even though it`s not quite what I expected. The book is kind of like a historical account of what happened so I was expecting to see a movie done as a documentary or something like that. The zombie tidal wave and them opening up on them with automatic weapons is what really got my attention. I hope to see all hell break loose and body parts flying everywhere.

In regards to the fast zombies. Max Brooks the author of WWZ and The Zombie Survival Guide justifies fast zombies by saying that zombies will have the same characteristics they had when they were alive. As the body decomposes they will slow down. So fresh zombie= fast zombie. Decomposed zombie = slow zombie. I don`t totally agree with it, but that`s the author`s choice.

@Baelzar What often happens is they`ll rush some scenes for the trailer usually CGI ones. What you way isn`t the final take. They did that with the Cloverfield trailers too, if you look at those they don`t look the same as the actual movie. I`m sure it will look better in theatres.

Was excited, now conflicted, I don`t remember there being sprinting in the movie ._. also it could have been so much deeper if they did it kinda District 9-esque with clips of the narrator interviewing survivors and found footage shots of the war. Not really a shaky camera kinda person but it would have worked for this.

yeah, I`m disappointed. They should have done it documentary style, since that is what the book is. They just made it a cheap Hollywood movie with Brad Pit...I should I have know.

Reminds me of the War Of The Worlds re-make: man trys to keep his family alive while the world is over-run by aliens, er, zombies!

WotW was a good re-make! A modernization of a classic made into a watchable film.

They can do the "documentary style" for the sequil!

@CoyoteKing: Romero`s "slow zombies" didn`t manage to take over the world! A bunch of `good old redneck boys` wiped them out!

"So fresh zombie= fast zombie. Decomposed zombie = slow zombie."

Zombies don`t have full control over their brains, so motor functions suffer. That`s why they can`t talk.

Think Walking Dead zombies. Not Resident Evil movie zombies.

@Drawman: It`s psychological: Vampires represent the `outside dangers` preying on the weak members of society.
Zombies represent society itself preying on, well, ANYone who isn`t "one of them".

Our brains have (subconsiously) figured out that society ITSELF is more dangerous to individuals than `monsters` are...

    Just my $0.02

I was looking forward to something a little more along the lines of the book. There is so much story to be told, and they want to make it all about him. I was hoping he was the compiler of the stories, not some commando or scientist type. Ugh.
