The profile might not be real, but I worry about the re-procusions for the child in the photo. He`s a real kid.

The Procussions are a hip hop group. Repercussions are what you might be concerned about.

Fancylad will have his home raided by the FBI any day now and be busted for kiddie porn. Either that or we`ll see him on TV with Chris Hansen.

@Everyone - I was homeschooled, which is not my fault. My mother can`t seem to spell. I DID ask to go to public school, but I wasn`t given a choice. You can see what I meant, the two words sound/look similar. Please forgive me for my ignorance, I`m still filling a lot of educational gaps. Thank you for correcting me, i apreciate it, it`s a just a bit of a sore subject.

@ByOwlPost - No worries, I guarantee that at least one of the people that corrected and/or attempted to make fun of you had to look up the word first.

You misspelled a single word. It`s not the end of the world, screw the spelling/grammar Nazi`s. We all understood what you meant, there are just some people in the world who can only feel good about themselves by pointing out the mistakes of others, no matter how trifling said mistakes may be.

Demonstrably untrue. If mistakes aren`t corrected then how will people learn? Would it be considered making myself feel better if you were citing improper dates for historical events and I corrected you? I think not.

People who think homeschooled kids are not getting as good an education as those in government-run indoctrination camps (AKA public schools) are simply ignorant of the facts. Kids coming out of homeschooling are blowing everyone else out of the water academically, and are actually critical thinkers rather than Marxist mind-numbed robots.

I know a lot of parents who home-school and they are fantastic. Those are the ones that do it correctly. They choose their curriculum, join support groups and have scheduled class time. A lot of the children whom I met are extremely bright; meaning, knowing multiple languages, knows advanced math, science and things of that nature and are well adjusted kids. If I had that option, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Definitely a troll, Christian but maybe atheist, likes Lil Wayne but is scared of black people, bisexual and proud but thinks homosexuality is a sin. There is an obvious play with contrasting ideas here.

There`s some really good ones too. I have a friend who homeschools her 3 kids and not for religious reasons. She makes sure they`re involved in other activities with kids their age (for example, her son is in karate) and her kids, especially her oldest (the other 2 are still pretty young), seems to have progressed further than kids his age who are in public schools. She`s teaching him things about science and the universe that I didn`t even learn until middle school or high school and he`s 5. Only thing I`m wondering about is what she`ll do when the kids are high school age, because I don`t know if she`s knowledgeable enough in certain subjects to continue teaching them past that point. But she`s doing fine so far.

Certainly, however there is much to be said in how one approaches handing out such correction. When, as is most common on the internet, such correction is little more than a thinly veiled excuse to make fun of someone it serves no purpose.
When people feel attacked, they get defensive. When you`re defending yourself you tend to be far less receptive to feedback of any kind, greatly reducing the chance that you`ll actually learn anything from the experience.
I have no problem with helpfully coaching someone, or nicely pointing out an error. Look at the posts above ByOwlPost`s. The only purpose they serve is making small minded people feel better.
