#2 Best arguement I`ve heard. Still irrelivant UNLESS you`re attacking Bush for the statement he DIDN`T make! It would have been "too strong" so isn`t it GOOD that he didn`t say it?
Didn`t matter though, the MSM Attack-dogs don`t need things like "facts" or "the truth" to assail their enemy...

Do you happen to know if flying a "Mission Accomplished" (or similar: Well Done, Welcome Home & etc) banner is a US Navy tradition? I have NO idea...
To my knowledge, however, it was never "front page fodder."
@chalket: you make a valid, if incorrect, observation.
I don`t "literally" mean the front page of a newspaper! Rather the "leading topic" of conversation in the News World. Thus HUNDREDS of "news pundits" over the years used Bush`s `nuclear` as fodder to ATTACK him! As if pronouncing that word had some effect on America`s issues... see?
Comedians = OK! News `reporters` = NOT ok.

#1: No, it was fine! The "Mission" WAS accomplished! At least the FIRST one: ground combat operations. NEXT came the whole "rebuilding" thing, winning hearts & minds and fighting the insurgency.

The MSM just "skipped over" the truth to harp on the supposed "Bush is so stupid he thinks the war is OVER" meme... and yes, I`ve seen dozens of clips of this.

As for the banner, do you really think that qualifies as a "simple misspeak?" It certainly was a mistake, but a "misspeak" on par with Biden`s speech? Come on...

But since you brought it up:

1) First the WH said the crew requested the banner. Then they said it was the Navy`s idea but the WH made it (but the Navy hung it). Then they conceded that they actually hung the banner too. Regardless which version (if any) was correct it was stupid to hold that particular speech in front of it. Even YOU cannot deny that.

2) No, he never said "Mission accomplished" in the speech, because Donald Rumsfeld REMOVED it! "I was in Baghdad, and I was given a draft of that thing to look at. And I just died, and I said my God, it`s too conclusive. And I fixed it and sent it back… they fixed the speech, but not the sign." That kinda implies the banner was really made FOR the speech, doesn`t it?

5Cats: First, Bush mangling the word "nucular" (as many do) has nothing to do with his Texas accent, it`s called a metathesis (a switching of two adjacent sounds) and it can be found in Canada and Britain as well. To my knowledge, however, it was never "front page fodder."

Crakr... I think HG asked you the wrong question. It should be "give one example where a misspeak this innocent was attacked by liberals" since these types of slips are, of course, newsworthy and will be reported regardless of the party slipping up.

Your Jan Brewer example certainly made the news, as it should have, but I couldn`t find any MSM attacks on her for it. Can you?

I Can Haz Video?
A 2 minute clip of the speech...
See? We CAN find the videos! Will YOU do as much the next time someone asks? Have you EVER provided proof for your outrageous claims? I cannot recall any (that were valid).

COMPLETE video, and Text Too!
It`s a really GOOD speech!

NOWHERE does he claim "the war is over" which is what liberals claimed for YEARS! Even on IAB, some 5 years after, there were some IDIOTS (@madest, and plenty of others) STILL making that claimas if it were "a fact".

@HG: Bush saying the word "nuclear" with a Texas accent was front page fodder for 8 years...

Here`s one, even YOU cannot deny it:

#1 the banner is for the aircraft carrier`s crew, they were 50 miles from home after serving 10 months in the Gulf...
#2 Bush NEVER said "Mission Accomplished" to refer to the "end of the war", yet for MONTHS that was all the talking heads could talk about. YEARS EVEN!

So there, that`s one, and like @CrakrJak, I could hunt down at LEAST 20 more, if I cared one iota about what your opinion...
One is enough to prove our case.

HG: Just one, since you and Lillian insist.

Governor Jan Brewer misspoke and accidentally endorsed President Obama on August 29, 2012 during the RNC. It made the front page of the International Business Times and was spread far and wide among liberal sites on the internet.

This after her earlier conversation with the President, supposedly wagging her finger at him, was considered as a threatening gesture by the liberal press, which also made front page news.

" I could cite numerous examples."

This is just like "well I remember seeing something different when I was a kid" or "the video exists but I can`t find it".

Send me one time where a simple misspeak was big time news. The media makes big deals about things like the 47% speech, but that is NOT a misspeak.

"liberals see it as an opportunity to attack, make front page news."

OK. Give me one example where a misspeak this innocent was front page news.

The difference, Conservatives just see `misspeaks`, like this, as joke. liberals see it as an opportunity to attack, make front page news.

Liberals: A Conservative misspeaks - Frontpage News!, What an imbecile, No excuse!

Liberals: A liberal misspeaks - You don`t understand, You`re racist!, You`re an imbecile for pointing it out!

Conservatives: A Conservative misspeaks - Why are the liberals so uptight?, Wow they took that quote out of context, Making something out of nothing.

Conservatives: A Liberals misspeaks - That was funny LOL!, No teleprompter that`s the problem, Why do people vote for this guy?

"My only question is, why are people like 5Cats even involved in this discussion... Isn`t 5Cats Canadian?"

Agreed. American political discussions should be reserved for Americans that pay taxes. Goodbye 5Cats and Crakr.

"Romney mis-speaks: he`s an idiot
Obama mis-speaks: YOU are too stupid to understand"

I wouldn`t think Romney was an idiot if it was a simple slip of the tongue. The "47%" was not a "slip of the tongue".

Obama rarely misspeaks. If you are referring to the "57 states" that struck me pretty clearly as a joke about how much traveling he had been doing. If you are referring to "you didn`t build that" you can cling to it all you want but he obviously was referring to the roads and bridges he was talking about RIGHT before that.

"Dan Quail, or Bush I (when he was VP) or Sarah Palin"

Quail, W, and Palin were morons. You really don`t think so? NOT because of simple slips of the tongues for things they actually said on purpose.

I don`t think anyone in this race is stupid, not Obama, Biden, Romney, or Ryan.

I wouldn`t make a big deal about a slip of the tongue fro

"There`s only ONE syllable at that point, "haven`t" has two, no matter what one`s accent does to the word."

Did you even read what I said?

"I hant" a colloquial quick southern mashing of "I Haven`t"

There`s only ONE syllable at that point, "haven`t" has two, no matter what one`s accent does to the word.

And OF COURSE it`s just a slip-up! Of the Freudian variety? idk!

What makes it funny is the polar-opposite reactions of the liberals & the MSM:
Romney mis-speaks: he`s an idiot
Obama mis-speaks: YOU are too stupid to understand
Biden mis-speaks: here`s a list of excuses... including "it`s a vast, right-wing conspiracy"!!!

Clearly he says "I`ve". Turn up the volume and close your eyes, it`s nothing else.

@Cajun: The point is: Imagine if Dan Quail, or Bush I (when he was VP) or Sarah Palin had said this? It would be FRONT PAGE NEWS on the MSM for a WEEK if not longer.
"Sherrif" Joe Biden says it? Excuses are made, accepted and he`s defended BY the "watchdog media".

Bias: It`s initials are M.S.M...

PS: Biden is a walking, talking gaff machine! The list of his idiotic statements rivals Quail!

Is that the best you`ve got, CrakdJak? He also said "20 thousand" when he meant "20 million" in the same speech. OMG!
I find it strange that every single clip of this supposed gaffe is just 0:15 long and cuts off immediately, it looks to me like someone offstage gets his attention and he starts to say something else? Maybe a clarification?

""...I hadn`t been proud..."

Hmmmmmm. I read the title and listened to the video and only heard "I`ve". I just assumed he misspoke.

However I just re-listened to it and now I hear "I hant" a colloquial quick southern mashing of "I Haven`t"

Either way this is dumb.

Always funny to me.

Conservative gotcha videos are them catching a liberal saying something they don`t mean by accident, like this.

Liberal gotcha videos are them catching a conservative saying something they absolutely mean on purpose, like the 47% comment.

It sounded to me like he DID say "hadn`t." Perhaps most of you and those who uploaded this are used to slow monotonous loud english speakers or those with heavy accents, but when I speak rapidly, I will occasionally slur words together as well.
