    Nifty! Weird how 1-2 houses get destroyed, but those beside them seem OK. Blind luck? Better building?
    Thx @Fancy!

    Hurricane Sandy happend four days ago:
    The area has no gas.
    They`re finding bodies everywhere.
    People are eating from dumpsters.
    Staten Islander are begging for food.
    People are stranded, starving and begging for clothing and shelter.

    Obviously the response is inadequate.

    So I`m waiting on the news media to excoriate Obama and for Kanye West to tell everyone `Obama hates white people.`

    @Adcro: And those who build their house upon the sand? Will people ever learn?
    (laughing hystericaly at the 3 Little Pigs refrence!)

    @Draculya: Reality Check
    The USA has had LESS storms than average since "Global Warming" allegedly started, NOT MORE, NOT WORSE!
    "...consider that from August 1954 through August 1955, the East Coast saw three different storms make landfall—Carol, Hazel and Diane—that in 2012 each would have caused about twice as much damage as Sandy."

    3 in one year, as opposed to 1 in 5 years? (Wilma was the last in 2005)
    Obviously AGW! Teh science it be settled!

    The gas "shortage" is actually due to the fact that, at one point, 1/4 of NJ had no power. If there`s no electricity then the gas pumps won`t work. About half of the tankers that regularly deliver to NY & other states in the area that weren`t affected were diverted to the areas they were most needed to keep emergency & utility company vehicles gassed up. There were long lines and gas stations near the NY/NJ border were running out but as you head farther upstate there`s no problem.

    Rich people build big houses right on the beach in a hurricane zone and then are shocked when a storm comes. The people I feel sorry for are all those folks who were stuck in hospitals without power and the nurses who had to carry them down several flights of stairs to evacuate.

    Hmmm, an amusement park slightly damaged and some insurance claims on vacation homes. Meh.
